I highly do not suggest this insurance if you would like to get any surgery that a surgeon feels necessary is for you to get. I was blacklisted by Healthy insurance because the medication that keeps my pancreas alive is so expensive for them. Now they refused to approve a surgery for my foot that is absolutely needed and has put me in the emergency room over six times because they refuse to do anything about it and I don’t have tens of thousands of dollars to get it fixed. Thanks for nothing and ruining me and my families life by keeping me disabled.

Worst insurance I've ever had. They always question my labs, tests, mri approval from them takes forever. I was diagnosed with 2 types of arthritis & neuropathy and need to see a cardiologist & foot doctor & I was told there is no cardiologist on their network so I would have to pay out of pocket....sure, great, like I have the $ for that. I'm on disability and get the run around from their rheumatologists on their network. And that rheumatologist clinic give me excuses. I'm supposed to see a Rheumatologist every 6 months. Well I haven't been able to find one or see one for 3 years & was told I still have to wait 1 years. Unless you are rich, you get treated like complete crap ? I wanna change insurance plans but I don't wanna lose the pcp I've been seeing since 2015! Health care needs to be fixed right so it's fair for ALL!!!

The worst insurance we've ever had. Their customer service is awful. They cover nothing, and we pay a fortune every month. Pre authorizations take forever, even though we will pay for all of the procedure out of pocket anyway. The doctor says we need it, and UofU health will take weeks to approve or deny. They are not up front about any pricing and when we ask for help, all we get is "we don't have that information". Every provider cannot even find their insurance in the system, and then are confused why it all takes so long, when every other insurance get it's done.

Worst insurance ever. I have never seen an insurance company deny surgery or tests when the doctors are all saying that it is crucial that these things get done, that is, I've never seen an insurance deny it until Healthy U came along. I am contacting medicaid and CHIP to file a complaint and so are the doctors.

Finally left this provider and went with a different company and the difference is night and day. I did not have problems in terms of quality of healthcare with U of U health plans but as far as administration goes, they are far behind everyone else.
The patient portal never worked and even paying the bill online was impossible. Tried to call the phone number included in the e-bill and the number was “no longer in service”. Had to dig out old paper bill to pay by phone.
I requested multiple times to get EOBs electronically but kept getting paper version until the end. Maybe it’s a good thing because I could never login to my account and I would have never been able to access them electronically.
My new insurance company’s website gives me clear cost information when it comes to prescription drug and I love it. Not so with UofU health. I regularly take a couple of medications and the price I needed to pay at the pharmacy was never the same each month even at the same pharmacy. At first I thought maybe it was the that particular pharmacy but no, same with all pharmacies I’ve been to. The price fluctuated 10-15% each month and no body knew why.
Searching for a provider in their website was a pain too. For some reason, same providers show up multiple times , sometimes more than 10 times and make the search results incredibly long and hard to scroll through.
All things considered, I am happy I am no longer with this provider and would not recommend to anyone if they had a choice.

Terrible plan. They just send bills, but never aprove pay for surgery, even though the doctor says you really need! And always repeat, the doctor did not sent documents, even the doctor put everything I'm my chart.
