Stay away! One star is too many for this company. After paying my car and home insurance premiums for 20 + years and only filing one hail claim on my car over 4 years ago, my car was totaled by a drunk driver. Had problems working with the at-fault party's insurance so was told to file with my insurance and they would work with the at fault insurance and subrogate them later. When I called California Casualty, I was told they could not help me because I only had liability coverage ( not sure that's even legal) so I was on my own. I had to learn the 'insurance world' and worked with the at-fault insurance. Afterwards, needing immediate coverage on my new car, I was quoted an outrageous amount by California Casualty. Needless to say, I've switched insurance companies. My premiums are about half of what California Casualty's were and I have the peace of mind of knowing my new insurance company will have my back when I need it. California Casualty has no integrity and will not have your back when you need them.

Not pleased with this agency. My home owners insurance more than doubled. I did not make any claims and wasn’t even notified that there was going to be a rate increase. When I called to cancel, the customer service person actually told me that they would be increasing the rate again so she understood why I was canceling. A more than double rate increase is crazy. I was able to get a better policy, with more coverage AND save a chunk of money with another agency.

I was involved in an accident, that was no fault of mine. I followed what is did the be the proper channel for reporting and making a claim. This company came recommended from my union. I was treated poorly and without compassion.
I have since disengaged from this company and am covered by a company that treats me with respect and dignity. I will not recommend this company to anyone.

Very poor claim service. You can not get updates or even find your claim online. You have to call the 1-800# and be shuffled around and on hold for 20-30+ minutes to find out anything at all, and it is difficult to have them transfer you to a local agent. They will not give out local agents extensions either. Very very poor service when you need it the most. I am sure they are right there for someone who wants a new policy. Frustrating! Plan to shop around after this claim is done.

I have been with California Casualty since 2007 and have been very happy with them. My wife rear ended someone and I slid on ice - both cars were totaled. Their teams were Johnny on the spot both times and we had checks in hand within a day or 2 of repair shops saying the cars needed to be replaced. I also got stuck in golf ball sized hail totaling another car; once again they were there offering me top dollar for my car within a day. Very satisfied. Thanks CC keep up the good work

I was looking to change insurance companies. When I looked up the companies on the referral site, like Hippo, they had multiple reviewed saying after one year the insurance premium doubled. California Casualty has never done that to me.

It's nice to talk to someone local when I call customers service. I would recommend if you make changes to your policy, call in a week later to make sure they actually made the change.

I do think they made it a pain when I had to put in a claim on home owners insurance, but that was in another state.

After 13 years as a "preferred" customer with this insurance company I was shocked when I found out my auto insurance had been cancelled! I did not receive any notice from this company prior to discovering it for myself. Not a phone call, not a piece of mail and not an electronic message (e-mail). SO, I WAS DRIVING MY AUTO FOR NEARLY 2 MONTHS WITHOUT INSURANCE !! When I called customer service they told me I had been dropped due to 2 accidents 3 years ago? 1 was a 2 mph fender scratch and the other I was directed out of an oil change store into a concrete pole. This was not my fault but my loyal insurance company did not investigate and as a result the incident became record on my insurance repot card. No speeding tickets, no hit and runs, no dwi's, just 2 minor incidents in 3 of the 13 years I have been paying California Casualty 135.00 a month premiums. Stay away from this company because if this can happen to me you know it is happening to others. Thank you very little California Casualty.

We must say that Ruth Richey with California Casualty Insurance Co., Colorado Springs has been wonderfully helpful to us. And we're not California Casualty Insurance customers!
Their client was the driver who caused the accident with us!
They have been better about keeping us informed regarding settling the wreck litigation in which their customer and we were involved than Our own insurance company!
