I don't like leaving negative reviews, but the the professional communication process at this insurance agency needs to be improved... We had just bought a house in July 2017 and were referred to Ewing-Leavitt for a home insurance policy. Initially, the agent did great in finding us an affordable home & auto bundle through Safeco. In June 2018, we got in touch with the agent and asked if he could get us new quotes to see if there were any affordable bundles through different companies. He said he would check and have an answer back to us by the deadline of our current policy, which was in one month. Well, our policy deadline came and went, and the only email we received was from Safeco saying they had charged our credit card another $1,575 for renewing our policy another year. I emailed our agent frustrated about not hearing from him with any new policy updates or quotes from other companies and he simply said, without an apology, that his underwriter was "backed up" (which is why we emailed a month in advance to ask for quotes) and that he'd try to send quotes within the next 24 hours- he did follow up on this and said no other carriers would be able to offer us better rates. Quite disappointed with everything, I sought out a new local insurance agent who was able to find us another home & auto bundle that was $200 less than our Safeco policy. When I sent an email to our previous agent inquiring on how to cancel our Safeco policy, a different agent responded with the paperwork we needed to fill out- we had been passed along I guess? We scanned the paperwork back in and asked how our reimbursement would work and never got a response, so I called and left a voicemail with this "temporary" agent and still never got a call back from him. It took me calling Safeco today and them patching me through to my original agent to hear about how our reimbursement would work!!! I know these are good people working at this agency, we just don't feel like we were well taken care of during or after our time as paying customers with Ewing-Leavitt Insurance.
