We had State Farm homeowner insurance for years until our local agent died and our policy was switched to this other local agency. The first notice they sent was an $800 increase in the premium even though we have never filed a claim in our lives. The agent was very happy until she said our home is in a restricted area. She sent an unqualified "inspector" to see our property who didn't even get out of her car and took pictures from her car. Then she sent us a rejection notice.
Our home is 20 years old and in beautiful condition along with an extremely manicured property that we've spent years beautifying. The local agent was rude and wouldn't even discuss the matter saying we need to replace the roof which has 40 year architectural grade shingles in excellent condition and has at least 20 more years of service left. She said "it was up to the underwriters" and wouldn't even drive over to see our home in person.
We talked with our neighbors and they all said State Farm is looking for any excuse to drop home policies in Colorado because of supposed "high claims". We heard the same report about State Farm from other ins. carriers. We ended up getting "bundled insurance" from another A+ rated company for a much lower premium than what State Farm quoted. The State Farm local agent won't even refund the money they took out of our checking account....these people are crooks and should not be in business. I reported this to the local Chamber of Commerce as well.

We have been using Katrina for all our insurance needs for years. They have been so helpful and prompt for everything we have needed through all of life’s changes. State Farm has been our “good neighbor” for the past 5 decades. Our agent, Katrina Weiss and her staff have consistently overseen all of our insurance needs with professionalism and kindness. As the seasons of our lives have changed, so have our needs. Katrina offers ideas to ponder. When we had a couple of losses they were uber attentive to come alongside and set us up straight again! We needed to know if we had coverage for a water heater failure. Even though we didn’t have that particular coverage that is not their fault. These folks have always been helpful and professional. They even send you birthday cards for your birthday. I would highly recommend them if you are looking for someone that will treat you as a person and not just a policy holder

I recieved the worst service trying to get information about my bill and what I owe. The woman in the billing department, (name started with a D) not only changed what she said and doubled back multiple times, she also refused to give straight answers to my questions and laughed at me more then once. And actively hung up on me. I still do not have an answer to my concers!
-Update- Katrina did not reach out to us. Very disapointing. We are moving our buisness elsewhere.
