Cheryl and Lloyd of Safeguard Public Adjusting are simply amazing. Words cannot express how grateful my husband and I are for their services and expertise. Before working with them, my husband and I had no idea what public adjusters were. After a water leak in our kitchen that led to mold, we had a horrible experience working with our insurance’s preferred vendor that included the vendor painting over the mold and not following their own mold removal safety protocols. After searching google reviews, we made a few calls. Cheryl answered and worked us into her schedule that day. With Cheryl handling the communication side and Lloyd handling the construction side, we were able to get what was needed to repair our kitchen properly. We would have been lost without their expertise. Dealing with insurance requires so much attention to detail and a countless stream of back and forth emails and follow-ups. Our adjuster was busy and overworked. Yet, Cheryl was always on top of things and continued to advocate for us until the completion of our project. I will now always recommend public adjusters for large insurance claims and have and will continue to recommend Safeguard Public Adjusters to anyone in the DMV.

We were very pleased with Safeguard Public Adjusting Services for assistance with our insurance claim - water damage. We normally just work with our insurance, but since we've never dealt with an issue as extensive as basement water damage, we decided to look up a public adjuster which was the first time we've ever had to work with a PA. So glad we did. Cheryl was professional; communicative and transparent. We went back and forth with out insurance for months without any communication on status of claim. However, when Safeguard came in, they were able to get swift a response and the insurance accepted Safeguard's quote for damages. When I spoke to insurance claim adjuster they apologized for the lack of communication prior to Safeguards assistance and noted that Safeguard provide sufficient details on claim. If you have to submit a homeowner’s insurance claim, save yourself time and aggravation by reaching out to Cheryl and her team at Safeguard Public Adjusting. We should have reached out to her earlier than we did, instead of trying to deal with the insurance company on our own. We had roof damage from wind and hail. And after months of dealing with the insurance company’s claims resolution specialist, they agreed replace the roof. The problem was the amount of money the insurance company estimated for the roof replacement work was way less than any roofing estimates we received from reputable roofing companies. When we showed the roofers the insurance scope of work, they pointed out many things that were omitted in the insurance estimate. We pointed the discrepancies between the insurance company’s estimates and the roofers to our insurance company. The insurance company refused to adjust their estimates. We were at a dead end, or so I thought.
We reached out to Cheryl for help. She and her team were very responsive. They came out to meet us, look at the damage, explain what her team will do for us. She reviewed our policy and the insurance companies estimates for repair. She was familiar with our insurance company and explained their process of settling claims. With all this, she and her team went to work. They worked with the insurance company adjusters and appraisers to agree on the scope of work based on the damage and in accordance with our policy. Then they worked with the insurance company to established the fair market price for the work. Within a few weeks, they were able to get the insurance company to adjust their settlement to align with the roofing estimates in our area. I was not able to get the insurance company to budge for almost a year on the settlement amount, but within a few weeks, Cheryl and her team accomplished this. We are now in the process of getting our roof replaced. We highly recommend Safeguard Public Adjusting.

Prior to meeting Cheryl, I was at my wit's end trying to get my insurance company to pay for the unexpected damage to my home. Calls were not being returned, and finally, they tried to pay out a very small amount to fix the extraordinary amount of damage to my home. Then, I met Cheryl.

The previous eight months where I got little to no follow-up suddenly changed once Cheryl began communicating with my insurance company on my behalf. Finally, the company stepped up to the plate. Ultimately, the $5,000 the company tried to have me settle for increased to what the costs actually were --- approximately $70,000!! Had I not met Cheryl. Had she not performed on my behalf. I would probably still be haggling trying to fund the repairs needed for my home.
