In October I got injured pretty badly and had to take leave due to a really badly sprained ankle. When I first applied to receive the short term disability it was an immediate quick response. There was no wait. The process was very smooth and quick Jesse Assisted me every step of the way even when things got difficult on my end with my workplace. Thank you so so much for all the help! Without them I wouldn’t be getting paid. If I could give 10 stars instead of 5 I definitely would. If I ever need help again I will reach out to them and be a returning customer. Appreciation is an understatement. ❤️

As a policyholder, I have faced a shocking denial of my Paid Family Leave claim, despite being fully compliant with all state and federal laws requiring such coverage.

What’s worse, this denial contradicts both the agreement and legal mandates.

The insurer shamelessly deflected blame onto the broker (Paychex), exposing willful negligence in their processes and leaving me to bear the financial and emotional strain.

This company’s practices are not only unethical but also illegal, as their mishandling of my case highlights blatant violations of New York law regulations.

If you value integrity, responsiveness, and compliance with legal standards, stay far away from this carrier.

An absolutely terrible experience. Was forced to deal with these people through my union and it is going downhill more and more every time. Just look at all the other reviews to get an idea of what to expect. Money is held until you send them an updated medical form sometimes you need to.send it again if they don't like it. Expect delays in payment. I have been on temporary disability for 5 months and I've been paid for a total of 10 weeks. There is no direct deposit. Yes you heard that correctly. This is the only business that must print out a check to pay you and cannot transfer your funds to any account, adding to the already terrible wait times. I do not get any joy in talking bad about people or an organization but truthfully, the only good thing I can say about this place is I guess it could be worse somehow. If you are not forced to deal with this company, please avoid at all costs

I want to share my recent experience with this company that I found to be quite careless in their approach. During my paternity leave, I encountered several issues with their payment system. Instead of providing direct deposit options or express services, they opted to mail paychecks via regular service, resulting in a delay of 5 to 10 days. This inconvenience was compounded by their slow application processing times and a propensity for making things needlessly complicated.

Based on my experience, I would strongly advise exploring alternatives before committing to this company. In my opinion, their practices fall far short of acceptable standards.

As a patient/family advocate that is passionate about getting services/benefits for one client at a time, it hurts to think of a senior being put through what I was to get $156 a week. While trying to heal from a mandatory life saving surgery, I had to re-send, email, fax, call from December 2022 until today 6/27/23. They received all the paperwork needed 2 days before my surgery and still kept my checks. Any employer that partners with this company for their employees wants their team to become homeless. It's disgusting and a crying shame to make me fight for 6 months. What about the folks that don't know how or have the energy to keep faxing and calling. ZERO STARS!!!!!!!!

I applied for short term disability "3 weeks" before I had my baby via c-section then PFL after the baby arrives.

All paper works was sent in through the agency I worked for on June 16, 2023. I received an email that my PFL will not be processed until the baby is born and I sent in proof of birth.

I had the baby July 6th send in proof of birth July 10th. I reached out to standard security as to why I never received any disibility payment. I was told a payment was sent out on June 22, they then sent me an email with forms to be filled out. One of the form was for stop payment on the check. As it turns our they sent the check to a whole different address from where I live. I reached out to then but was met with a lot of attitude and no one was willing to admit they made a mistake with the address.

The second form was also filled out and sent to them. Then person I spoke with said I need to send an email stating when I want my PFL to start....that was already stated in the paper works I sent in..it is now July 27th and I haven't received a disability check or a PFL check but I got a call this morning stating my disibility is going over into August. Like what the actual 🤬. I told the lady no, the paper works clearly stated that it was only supposed to be when I stop working before I had the baby, she said ok I need to send another email stating when I wanted the disibility check to stop for them ton process it.

I did everything these people ask me to do and they keep finding something to delay the process. All my paperworks was filled out correctly, with the correct address, disibility time and PFL time by myself, my doctors and my employer.

Worst experience ever. 😪

Required information after 2 years of an on going permanent disability claim, this information provided weeks before the so called dead line and they still closed out my claim. tried to contact my Senior Disability Benefits Analyst Justine Schaub several (I Mean Several 20+) with no answer or call back after a massage left. Seems being ignored is one way to get rid of claims to NOT have to write a check to help a totally disabled individual.
