I notice all the five stars are from the facilities. Doing a bit of digging found that they pay back the facilities upto 70% of the premiums collected from tenants. Which explains why they deny claims. This company is a fraud.
My unit was broken into, filed claim, sent all required documentation. But because my unit doesn't have damage on the outside they are trying to deny the claim.
I think all of us tenants who have been denied need to band together and sue this company for fraud. They are collecting monies from us for a service they have no intention of providing.

If they can’t deny the claim then they do everything possible to make the claims process so hard that you give up. They are in the business to give an additional stream of revenue to landlords, not in the business to provide protection to tenants.

Don't be fooled! Read all the reviews. You will notice that all the 5 stars are from companies that have partnered up with them. And all the 1 stars are from customers! I had rodent damaged done to my unit and they denied by claim because I couldn't proof when the damages occurred. So if you do pay for services with them take pictures every time you go to your unit otherwise, they will tell you that they can't process your claim due to not having proof of evidence of when damages occured. There are 100% scam!!!!!

I hope this review will help others. I have placed a claim 7/3/24 due to someone breaking into my unit and stealing belongings located at Storage Pup of Punta Gorda FL. The cameras was conveniently not working during time of burglary also. I have been treated as everything but the victim in this case. Police report has been sent in. I was asked to provide proof of ownership by either documentation or photos proving ownership. I provided over 50 photos to prove so and still it has not been resolved as their site makes people believe they do so. I would not recommend utilizing a storage unit that has a contract with Safe Lease. They will only work with the storage company and not the actual tenants that pay for this coverage. I am forced to seek legal actions. Remember, people rent storage units for they have belongings that are important, expensive, and sentimental. Do you want any of that compromised by someone or company that is getting rich off your losses and have no compassion at all?
