Been with Ken 22 years now. Insurance with shelter has taken a ridiculous hike. $288 to $475 (per6) increase over few years time. $310(per6) was a $24k brand new focus. Book value now $7500 @ the $475 rate quote. 0 tickets and 0 claims over the 22 years with them. Have paid in 30k+ over the years. I had reduced to liability with comprehensive to make more affordable but it raised above what I had been paying for full coverage. $761 (per6) between the two vehicles liability comprehensive, $1,013 (per6)for full coverage.
Priced with progressive direct and im getting upgraded to full coverage for $30 more a year or i can go with same coverage for $300 a year savings. My folks also made the change due to a $1k+ savings on 2 vehicles. Their house had 8 months left so they canceled 2 vehicles that were due or shortly due. Boat, camper and house still there. Shelter tried adding 500+/- to the policy on house that had already been paid and active to continue coverage. Folks immediately swapped and canceled all remaining coverage with this office resulting in higher coverage and a $1200 a year savings over 5 policies. They have been with Ken for pushing 30 years. 7 policies canceled.

I would highly recommend Ken Bohr as an insurance agent. We have rental properties, vehicles, trailers, personal home and our businesses insured with shelter. Ken has always made sure our coverage was exactly what we needed and wanted. I love that Ken and his staff are always ready to help when I call and never make me feel like I am a bother.

I appreciate an insurance company that provides service in a positive manner. Ken Bohr achieves that by being interested in more than just selling me insurance. He and his employees have shown me that they care about what happens to me, they take an interest in my safety, and I do not feel like I am just a number to them. I had an incident while driving on the highway, when a rock from a truck in front of me flew off and hit my windshield, cracking it. When I called Shelter to report the incident, the first thing Ken asked me was "Are you alright?" I appreciate that my insurance agent asked about my well being first, then addresses the business of my vehicle. My windshield was fixed the next day, in my driveway, which was very convenient for me. I moved out of state for a couple of years, when I returned home, I contacted Ken Bohr again for my insurance needs. I am confident that I am protected through Shelter Insurance, and I am very happy to have such a knowledgeable and personable agent in Ken Bohr.

After reviewing the payments deductions it turns that they are taking more than what is the actual cost. Also, got a very rude face when called to cancel the policy and they wouldn't return the extra charges but fortunately with calling the corporate office of Shelter and reviewing the call records the corporate apologized for the rude experience from Ken and his associate and the extra money that was taken.
