Buyer beware. I paid $5000 for help with back taxes. Mark Diehl made it sound like (and assured me) I would qualify for the “Offer in Compromise” IRS program. Almost a year later I was shocked when he told me that I did not qualify. Mark had told me, after the fact , that “less than 30% of people qualify” for the IRS “Offer in Compromise. I was stuck with a huge debt, zero tax relief, and had to hire out of state attorneys and a new CPA team to represent me.

To anyone that wants to know if they qualify for the “Offer in Compromise” before giving Mark Diehl your hard earned money, I suggest going to the IRS webpage and looking up their worksheet. You will plug in the exact same numbers that he will ask you to give him and it will tell you within minutes if you qualify or not. I feel very dumb for not doing this on my own as I could have taken a better route and saved $5k. His service is absolute garbage, lackadaisical, and his newsletters are nothing but a scare tactic to drum up business in my opinion. I fell for it and am paying for it.

I would like to recommend Mark Diehl and his firm, Diehl CPA LLC, for your accounting and tax services. Mark helped me with the preparation and filing of my personal income taxes that I let pile up for 3 years after my last accountant retired. Updated Review - June 2024

I initially gave Mr. Diehl a five-star review in 2023, which I’ve included below. However, my experience during 2024 was disappointing.

On June 10th, 2024, I emailed Mr. Diehl regarding this matter and requested a refund, but have yet to receive a response. (Mr. Diehl has responded as of July 25th and said a refund will not be issued due to him not including my business rent in the tax preparation). I needed to amend my tax report as I overpaid by a couple of thousand dollars.

Unfortunately, Mr. Diehl missed my business rent when filing, which meant I qualified for an earned income credit that was overlooked. Additionally, he inputted my miles incorrectly. When I reviewed my taxes with a second accountant, she immediately noticed these discrepancies.

I also found that I could ask more clarifying questions with the second accountant, leading to additional beneficial changes to my taxes. I was unaware that Mr. Diehl had hired another tax professional in Florida, who was initially working on my taxes this year.

Given these issues, I feel that the service and price were not worth it for filing my sole proprietor LLC business, especially considering the need to amend the taxes afterward.

I worked with Mr. Diehl to file my business and personal taxes. He was easy to work with, knowledge, promptly responded to my questions, and I was given the choice to either file online or with hard copies. I was very pleased with my experience!

Dropped off most of my documents in April, my father passed away I
And it was June by the time I emailed him the remaining spreadsheets. He spent a few emails arguing with me that he didn’t have ANY documents.
October 5th a woman in FL messages me for additional questions?! I send them over and 10/12 they were available for mark to finalize. 10/20 I called and he isn’t even in state, and is off of work until 11/1.
I should have pulled my records when he argued he never had them back in April.
I’m giving him until 11/2 to finalize and file or fedex me my documents.
AND I think on top of all the emotion, he sold me on the previous tax accountant being “bad” and she took too long so he would get it done “fast” ?! 6/7 months is NOT okay.

Big thank you to Diehl CPA. Your advice helped us go from absolutely clueless to having the IRS forgive over $52,000 in fines over a mistake a former employee made. That's a lot of money for a small business and I can't thank you enough. You probably just saved someone's job.
