We loved our visit!

Thanks again Paul for giving us the information and getting us signed up for our tour!

It was awesome to see where they filmed the movie tombstone and other movies! This is a very cool and unique experience to be able to see where they shot a bunch of classic westerns!

Definitely recommend calling or booking ahead of time. It is closed to public unless there are guided tours..

The gentleman that was our tour guide was very informative. He gave us plenty of time to take pictures and ask questions.

Hot chocolate, root beer, popcorn was available at the end of the tour in the saloon! That was a cool experience.

We were very lucky to be there on the 4-year anniversary of the new owners and they had some Legends of movie history past signing cards and answering questions!

It was a very unique experience and we appreciated it!

Wow, to be on the original sets from so many great western movies, of course our interest today was Tombstone movie being we were visiting Tombstone after this tour to celebrate the life of Val Kilmer. Every building was recognizable in the making of the 1993 Tombstone movie. I loved this tour and the knowledge of the staff was incredible, funny, informative and very interesting. I want to thank the staff for our great visit, keep up the great work because we're sending friends to you soon.

The Mescal Movie Set is amazing! Even if you aren’t an old west movie buff, you’ll be pleasantly surprised by this place. You can tell the owners have poured a ton of love and hard work into it. Our guide Ethan was so kind and knowledgeable. Honestly all of the staff were nice! When we were done with our tour we stopped by the gift shop. It is not your run of the mill tourist gift shop. There’s a variety of cute clothes, home decor, jewelry, and of course movie set souvenirs. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in the area. We went to Tombstone in the morning and Mescal in the afternoon.

If you are a movie buff this is a must see! If you are a history buff this is also a must see! My wife an I go as often as we are able to. Their volunteers are improving the location daily to make it an awesome location to film. The volunteer historians will guide you through the history of filming at the set.
Bonus points if you visit the gift shop and make a purchase. It will help keep MMS moving forward!

My husband and I called ahead and learned that the set was closed today but that the gift shop was open at 10a.m. and that from the gift shop, we can see the town from that porch. It is best to always call and plan ahead and book a tour in advance. We are huge western movie fans and went to Tombstone the day before and learned about Mescal from an actor there.

Cindy, in the gift shop and her husband and the couple that own the set and ranch were so wonderful to my husband and I and listened to us patiently share our stories and questions. The place is not only awesome but in pristine condition! They care about keeping it up even when a movie is not being filmed. There's always worth being done as it's evident. Be respectful of their work and their time. Was given the chance to meet very nice staff and many are volunteers. We will come back for a sunset tour in the future. Thank you Mescal for giving us a glimpse into the art of western movie history.

An exceptional must-see location for any movie lover or history buff — guaranteed to make you want to run home and scene-scroll through old classics. The volunteer guides are fun, friendly, and full of details about the productions that have taken place on site since 1950, from TV favorites like Gunsmoke, Bonanza, and Little House on the Prairie to major film productions such as Tombstone, The Outlaw Josey Wales, and The Quick and the Dead. Whether you’re a tourist en route to wine country or a local from Tucson, a tour of the Mescal set is the perfect way to find your inner cowboy and have a fantastic day in the wild West!

My husband and I really enjoyed our time at the Mescal Movie Set! Historian Dan was our guide and he was Great! We learned alot because of his knowledge and commentary about the set the movies filmed there. He was fun and engaging. Everyone there was so friendly and awesome! We definitely want to go back, next time we’re in the area!
