Just got off the phone with a representative of this company who could give me no plausible reason as to why my son's auto insurance was being terminated. He has only been with them for 6 months and they gladly took over $1200 from him as a buy in. They claim it was because of an accident he had in January 2023. The problem with that is they knew about the accident when they insured him in April 2024. Is this just a scam to get more money out of people? Why insure him at all? Look at the homepage for Amica where they proudly claim to have compassion. I am also filing a complaint with the CA state insurance commissioner for all of the good that may do.

This company will screw you over as soon as you cancel your policy. I cancelled and they told me over the phone with multiple confirmations that I had a refund check coming of $800 roughly. One month later, it never arrived. I called in today to ask about it and NOW they're telling me not only do I NOT have a refund suddenly, I OWE a balance of $260. Not only now do I owe a balance allegedly, they NEVER communicated that to me; no call, no VM, no email and nothing in the mail. They claim they sent mail, mail never came so they sent me to collections. This is incredibly unacceptable. There is also NO TRACE of any previous call regarding my refund. I also asked for the name and contact phone number of the collections agency it went to and THEY COULDN'T EVEN PROVIDE THIS!! HOW ARE WE SUPPOSED TO FIX THIS WHEN THEY WILL NOT EVEN TELL YOU HOW! He just said "It's out of our hands now" -- How on EARTH does a company NOT know which collections agency they send people to They also REFUSED to resend the email they claimed to send me that had the collections info on it. This is a scam. Look elsewhere or be prepared for them to switch up on you when you cancel. Now I've been sent to collections without a fair opportunity to pay or get an explanation as to WHY the previous rep would have ever told me I had a refund coming. They straight up LIED TO ME, and allowed me to get sent to collections!!!
Dishonest company.

It was 500 for four people 5 cars. Then 6 months later it was 621. This month it is now 735. I’ve had no claims in 30 years. They give you a rare and then increase it 20% per year. I called and they said we should look for new insurance every year to get the best rates. Seriously?

I called for a quick quote, after being on hold for 7 min while "Giles" was "running" My drivers license (mind you I have no tickets or accidents in more than a decade) he came back with $1,000 a month quote? I'm trying to lower my $330 I pay now. I rarely leave reviews, but that was disrespectful, just say your not approved, how do you even say that out of your mouth with confidence? for a 2021 subaru? Insanity!

Here's another low end insurance company trying to take anyones money, no wonder they have all these 1 star reviews. Called to get a quote and left me on hold for more than 10 min. If they really wanted any business, they should really limit hold time or hire more staff to do the job. Not to mention their rates are alot hire than my current insurance at full coverage ( well known insurance company).

If you’re a customer involved in an accident or you’re involved with an accident with one of their customers, get a lawyer immediately. These people ruined my entire life all because they can’t return a damn phone call. My credit is ruined, not to mention the tow yard sold my car because these people wouldn’t do their job, I still have yet to be paid for a rental car or for lost wages (the job I was doing at the time of the accident requires a car). My accident was in late August and no progress has been made, they’re still trying to determine the damage to my vehicle even though I have told them time and time and time and time and time again that I was not able to take photos at the time of the accident as I had to be transported to the hospital. Their customer did not deny fault but the accident occurred in a state I did not live in. I kept calling in countless times and never got a call from the person handling my claim, only a few emails within the few days after the accident. Laughably incompetent people. And now I have lost everything because of them, and now I owe so much money that even if they did pay me before I find a lawyer and they contact them, I won't even be able to get another car. Not to mention, because I was in the process of moving, I had VERY personal and very sensitive documents in my car that I usually wouldn't have in there, and now that the tow yard sold my car those documents are just out in the wild. So in addition to me having to frantically try to put my life together now someone can steal my identity at any moment and there's nothing I can do. Thankfully I did not have my own apartment yet because if I did I definitely would've gotten evicted just like that other person who left a review said they almost got evicted, then I'd have an eviction on my record. This company is just a bunch of heartless frauds who will just casually ruin your entire life, even when you did nothing wrong, and not care at all.

We called for a quote to change companies. I took the time to print and scan our current policies so we could mail, email or fax to Amica. They said no, they can’t do that. Then when my husband said we live in Sedona, the woman said they can’t insure us for anything because of the possibility of forest fires. After literally years of sending mail solicitations!
