We hired Dottrio LLC to represent us in an insurance claim for water damage to our home. The case was complex, but Dottrio LLC provided excellent consulting and advised us on the best course of actions. They represented us and communicated with the insurance company on our behalf which was a peace of mind for us. They were very professional, and responsive throughout the whole process, and always gave us the best advice. Our home was successfully restored, thanks to Dottrio LLC's excellent service. I'm currently in the process of a water damage claim & working with Mike of Dottrio has been an incredible experience. I hadn't officially hired Dottrio to represent me because my claim is on the smaller side but Mike has given me excellent advice & guidance along the way of negotiating my own claim. I still have a ways to go before my claim process is complete but if my claim ended here, I'm already beyond satisfied with the results that I've gotten thus far because of the service & guidance Dottrio has provided me; I seriously can't thank Mike enough. I'm unsure how this claim process would've been if I had gone through it by myself, without Dottrio's help but based on how the communication with my insurance company was going before getting Dottrio's help, I think it's a pretty safe bet that it most likely wouldn't have been good. To anyone reading this, if you're on the fence about hiring a public adjuster or you're unsure if you need one, at least give Dottrio a call & explain your situation to them to see if they could help; it certainly won't hurt. I've spoken to several adjusters before coming across Dottrio & Mike's knowledge about the claim process really sets him apart; he knows his stuff. If any of my family and/or friends ever need to file a claim in the future, I will definitely be recommending Dottrio. A++ for me

What a great experience to deal with Mike. He was able to answer all of my questions and took the time to go over the entire process with my wife and I. After I felt confident he was the right guy, he and his great staff took care of everything. I did not have to worry about my claim and he was able to get the full amount of the deserved recovery. Even after the repairs started and more damage was found, he was able to recover even more than we originally thought. Dealing with insurance adjusters is a pain, and even as a lawyer I knew this took someone with a specific skill set and knowledge, Mike is that guy. If you try and negotiate your settlement without his expertise you will be throwing away good money.
In addition, Mike was also able to recommend a great contractor to work with to help make the process even smoother. I have already recommended his services to friends and family and will continue to do so.

If you have never used a public adjuster or other such representative in dealing with your home insurance company in the past, you've been making a mistake. I'm so glad that I learned about Dottrio prior to a surprisingly damaging interior plumbing problem in our home.
When my wife discovered water was leaking from our basement ceiling on a Friday evening last month, she called me at work and FaceTimed the ongoing damage. Before leaving for home to shut the water main off, I gave Dottrio a call. Within two hours, they had an emergency plumber there on a Friday night who diagnosed the problem and applied a temporary fix. The next day/Saturday, house remediation specialists were on the scene. The next week Mike Durlewanger from Dottrio, a Dottrio contractor, and an insurance adjustor came to inspect the damage (which originated from a pipe in the kitchen area - and also did damage in that area - initially hidden but discovered soon after the basement problem). Mike was terrific. He identified many issues that my wife and I would have otherwise missed, and being very familiar with home insurance coverage and what hoops insurers put up to pay claims, ensured that these issues received attention from the insurance company. In the following two weeks, he repeatedly followed up with the insurance company (we gave Dottrio limited power of attorney to deal with them) such that they covered the claim completely.
It was night and day compared to our last interaction with a home insurer (which we previously got through Geico as part of a larger package). In this instance, where there was a separate weather damage incident years earlier, they sent an independent adjuster out who we later discovered was looking for reasons to deny the claim. I've seen many others go through the same stress in dealing with their home insurers (or were settled quick with small payments that covered only a portion of the damage). I don't know when this process began to get more and more adversarial (relative to auto insurance), but decided that I never would do this again and wanted professional representation.
Best of all (well maybe second best of all - getting a comprehensive settlement is really terrific) is that Dottrio is paid via the settlement process, and for a fee that doesn't affect one's ability to complete all the repair work sought in the settlement.
I now understand why Mike and Abby Durlewanger at Dottrio are incredibly busy. They are exceedingly professional, organized, communicative, and get results. There is no way that I would ever go through a home insurance claim again without working with a public adjuster (and in Maryland and the neighboring states, this would be Dottrio). They deserve 5 stars for every step in the process. As such I've been singing their praises to colleagues at work, and to relatives in other states - who are now seeking similar public adjusters to add to their contacts in case of unexpected home damage.

I contacted Dottrio in an effort to enlist their help with dealing my insurance company after roof damage after a storm. Dottrio was very professional and responsive. The handled my claim and was able to negotiate a complete replacement of my roof. Mike was tremendously helpful and informative during the process. I would recommend Dottrio to anyone who is in a similar predicament. 5 stars!!
