This place is by far one of the most respectable firms I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. The knowledge that each individual within the company has far exceeds what you would receive at a large corporation. They truly look out for their clients best interests and do so without pressuring you into investment options that may make you uncomfortable.

The fact that I’ve rolled many of my investments into accounts with Agora and sustained constant growth and constant communication from my advisors on performance, weighs a lot with who I trust and will always trust with my finances.

This place is a sham. They are very good at selling their product and explaining world news, but do nothing for you once they have your money. I held my money with them for 10 years, through one of the largest stock market rallies, and never earned anything. I left with a little less than what I put in.

I had many conversations with them on what risk level I wanted, the types of allocations I wanted, and even some individual stocks I wanted to hold (like Broadcom, back when it was $30/share). Every time, what I wanted got sold off and by the end of the year, everything I had was back in mutual funds. I'm not paying these people for mutual funds, I'm paying them for knowledgeable stock management. They put me in the highest cost mutual funds to where I was paying upwards of 3%; I'm sure because they got a nice break on the back-end.

Then there was the controversy over how much I was paying Agora for their services. I had worked out a rate with them when I signed the papers, and later when looking at how much I was paying, it didn't add up. They said that they "never had that paper" so it automatically went in at the highest percentage fee. This is not a trustworthy company.

I tried an experiment by investing with other brokers at the same time, one being Betterment, which had a more clear cost structure and easier interface. All other brokers were able to get me significant gains on my investments, while Agora continued to stagnate.

Hopefully I'm able to save others from the same mistake I made. This company will do nothing for your investments, and at best earn you nothing. Stay far away and trust your money to a different, more reputable firm.
