Great place to visit! My husband and I had fun gold panning didn’t realize it’s harder than it looks. Nugget was our tour guide. I loved his enthusiasm and fun personality. We also visited the dog sled camp they have on the property. Very informative presentation. I learned so much about dog racing. Very knowledgeable and friendly people taking care of their dogs. Then of course seeing the puppies and dogs. Who doesn’t want to pet a dog or cuddle a puppy? This is an absolute must see!! Thank you to all for a great experience!! Highly recommended.

Such a fun experience! As part of a cruise excursion we book we were bused here and were warmly greeted by the staff. We were fed a hardy lunch that included with the excursion. Note that we only had one pass through the line so there are no seconds. After the meal they took us outside for a gold panning demonstration. The staff, in period attire, gave a good run down of the history of the gold rush, the geology of the gold rich rivers, and a the process of panning out the gold before giving us all a shot at it. We found our little treasure and had fun doing. The gift shop was very nice and even purchased a few larger nuggets to add to our collection. Highly recommend this experience!

This was the best tour I've been on in my lifetime. Our tour guide, Earl E. Bird, was my favorite tour guide I've ever had. I cannot speak highly enough about how much I enjoyed his guiding. He was incredibly knowledgeable, funny, and helpful. I also really enjoyed Nugget, who was the highlight of the gold panning portion of the tour.

Even with a different tour guide, I get the feeling this would be a fantastic tour, as the views from the train are incredible, the dredge town area was informative and fun, and the sled dogs are of course adorable. Learning so much about the gold rush and the Iditarod race was icing on an already delicious cake. This was the highlight of an incredible vacation. I cannot recommend it highly enough, and I cannot speak highly enough of Earl E. Bird.

Great experience, it was a gold panning/ sled dog kennel. See the dogs was the best part. If you like dogs, they are for you. The tour guide for the gold panning was great. Shout out to claim jumper Jerry, he was hilarious and knowledgeable. The only thing I wish was more dirt for gold panning, a very short time for panning. Overall great experience

My family and fiancee had a great time visiting Alaska360's Dredge Town as part of our shore excursion (Gold Fever & Sled Dogs) on the Norwegian Encore. Slim Pickins was hilarious and gave us a great demo of panning for gold, and the other staff did a great job helping us out when it came time to do it for ourselves. They have a nice museum-like facility and the tour explained a lot about the Klondike Gold Rush and its impact on Alaska's history and economics. Of course the highlight for me was seeing the sled dogs and a professional musher who talked about his Iditarod racing and preparation. Also, it was good to see how happy and healthy the dogs were, and being able to see them run and for us to interact with them was a really unique and special experience for us.

We had a little issue after we left Dredge Town and contacted customer support. Angela got back promptly and really went above and beyond in resolving our issue. Thank you so much to Angela and the whole team for hosting a fun experience for us all and helping preserve our memories!

The only thing is that I wish I had more time at the end to explore on my own and read some of the information on signs explaining the old equipment. I guess that's the downside of shore excursions in general. But overall it was a great memorable experience, and we'd definitely look forward to coming back next time we visit Skagway.

Gold Nugget, Sled Dogs & Exclusive Scenic Railway

Lennart "Tumbleweed" was our guide throughout the 6.5h tour. We visited together the Klondike Gold Rush Park, where we learned all about panning for gold and we did also pan ourselves. The gold we found was weighted and we could keep it. So cool. Then we visited a musher's camp where we learned about sled dogs. We met the dogs, got a demonstration of they strengths and skills and we got to pet Alaskan Husky puppies. It was amazing. Finally we went on the White Pass Railway. Lennart was great, extremely knowledgeable, very passionate and attentive. The perfect guide. It was a fantastic day in Skagway.

Couldn't get enough of our guide, Goldie Rush.
She brought a passion to the whole experience that we'll never forget.

We loved being brought into the perspective of an Alaskan gold rush pioneer.

Getting a chance to meet, pet, and hold some of the Alaskan Husky pups was warm and memorable.

The warm and gooey cookies in the gift shop were amazing.

We had a great time at dredgetown. We really enjoyed the sled dogs and the gold panning. However, it was drug out a little bit long with probably twice as long as needed on the dog sledding and a lengthy amount of history of the Gold Rush which we got immediately before on the train ride. We did this through hey princess Cruise excursion.
