I am truly SHOCKED that Alex has all 5 star ratings, my experience has been nothing short of awful and NEGLIGENT in the last year that I've insured my home and cars with his agency; from the initial quote, to processing paperwork, and AWFUL communication all around. We knew that we wanted American Family insurance because of the high ratings across the board, and we contacted Alex because he was referred from our mortgage loan officer.

Initial red flags- it took weeks for Alex to get us quotes we requested, in which we had to reach out to his office multiple times to remind him and his response time was EXTREMELY delayed or unresponsive at all. It didn't seem he was motivated to earn our business. When we agreed to the quotes, it was chaotic experience managing the paperwork, receiving copies of our coverage, and etc. which in the past has never been an issue with any previous insurance agency that we used. This is something we consider STANDARD PRACTICE.

Fast forward to February, I totaled my car and I reached out to his office to help with the process, again NO COMMUNICATION and complete negligence to my concerns. We have been paying his agency a premium price to be insured, have a peace of mind, and trusted them to help in a worst case scenario- unfortunately, they were no assistance and we have been Googling and working with a corporate 1-800 number, instead of our agent who earned commissions off of us.

Fast forward to last week, we had a TORNADO sweep through Missouri (Alex is local to us), and again no communication from his office, not even a GENERAL email on instructions or to check in. We got in touch with somebody in his office, we were told our homeowner's policy was changed this month, which WAS NOT COMMUNICATED to us and we are now paying 4 times the deductible amount than we signed for a year ago with no previous home claims. We are reasonable people and we understand premiums change, laws change, etc but we feel that in a scenario where we have a million dollar home policy- we should have received a phone call, email or something from our agent to review our options ETC and have the option to make changes to our policies not without our consent.

I have never worked with a more incompetent insurance agent, and I would not trust him to insure anything. We will be reviewing legal options. My husband and I avoided all of the red flags, do not make the same mistake.
