I only give one star because I have to. If you have taken out mortgage protection insurance with Americo make sure you receive copies of and keep copies of your policy. They don't actually need your signature for the contract. My wife & i bought a policy through agent Leslie A. that if one of us were to die, our home would be paid off. The day came when i had to make this claim. That is when I found out, That is when i found out, the agent added her as beneficiary but not covered.
I reached out to the company. I asked the representative to speak to a higher up. He put me through, where I left a message. The higher up never had the decency to even call me back. You get the typical scripted, "I'm sorry" from the representatives.
(No your not. If you were, you would honor the policy that the agent was supposed to write up for us.) Unfortunately due to the incompetence of the agent, my daughter and I now have to wonder every month if we are going to be able to keep our home.
Again, if you're already signed up, make sure you have what you signed up for. If you are looking, do yourself a favor and avoid Americo.

I NEVER GOT THE INFORMATION IN THE MAIL. AND THEY END UP TAKING THE MONEY OUT OF MY ACCOUNT. I DID NOT HAVE NO INFORMATION AT ALL.. THEY CAN EASILY TAKE MONEY OUT OF YOUR ACCOUNT BUT TAKES 30 DAYS TO RETURN YOUR MONEY. ALL BS. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Only giving a 1 star because you can't leave it empty. Customer service is terrible - manager is trash. Literally sat and repeated herself on the phone and said "I don't know what you want me to do?" after huffing on phone because she couldn't provide the original documents. I am not paying $50 for you to recover the Originals - Life insurance is meant to be old! If you can't upload all of the policy holders information/documents into your "new system", that is not a client issue. That's a business issue. For you to expect me to PAY you to send me copies of my documents, it's INSANE. Unfortunately my parents are stuck with this dreadful company. I do NOT advise ANYONE to use their services! Fees are tacked on and not explained or notified. They need some serious work in their business structure, let alone customer support.

Unfortunately, I have to report this company as Big guilty of fraud. At some point, someone unbeknown to me, took out a life insurance policy using my bank account and an all address of mine and I was charged for two months directly out of my bank account for a policy I knew nothing about. I contacted America and they said it was up to me to prove that I didn’t take out that policy. Well I answer Every named every person, I knew everything about anything obviously stating that I know nothing about whatever this policy was and to this date two months later, I still have not heard anything nor have I received my refund. This is very disgusting and I don’t know On this place and hopefully someone will get to pay attention and do something about it. I have called multiple times and keep being told it’s up for you to approve that you did First of I’m an elderly person an elderly person I should say who has Limited vision and I know no one that even remotely lives anywhere near this person. Hopefully this will help me get a resolution . I’m very disgusted with companies and people that take advantage of others especially 65+ . Anyway, that’s all. I do think that something should be done about this company.

If I could give zero stars I would. This company was a joke. We were sold a life insurance policy which started taking from our account immediately (of course) but we didn't receive any info for said policy. When we contacted the company they stated that the policy didn't exist. It took a year of us contacting them before we got any proof of said policy. We were told not once not twice but multiple times that this policy would also act as a savings. That we could cancel at anytime and they would return the savings part of our payments to us. However, after we'd finally had enough and decided to cancel, despite being told that we had money we would be receiving in the mail upon cancelation of the policy, we instead received a letter stating there was no money. This after being told, again, multiple times that we would be receiving a certain amount via mail. When my husband contacted the company to give them the benefit of the doubt they were extremely rude and denied there being any money despite our documents stating otherwise. This all being around Christmas I can't help but wonder if this company is ran by Ebenezer Scrooge.

Told me yes then told me no policy, 1/22/2025 then removed premium from my bank 2/7/2025. Emailed.. said they didn'ttake premium.. called bank.. disputed claim.. money finally returned..
NEVER AGAIN.

.. agent knew way before today do not want to deal with unstable company.. replace my money asap.. this senior female veteran is highly upset and I won't quit til all my money is

So i get a charge from my bank for two policies apparently they said i talked to a broker but all i did was check prices on one policy two policy was put on my name and charge for without okay both policies. Than when I called and canceled the policies and put a stop payment on the two charges, 3 weeks later they than again pulled the charges again from my bank accountveven though I canceled the policies and tell me I gave to wait 20 days to get my money back. How can you take money for a canceled policy? This company is a joke and i am reporting them to the wisconsin commissioner of insurance

As a Independent Broker, their agent support is terrible. I usually have to be on hold for 12-30 minutes before someone gets on the phone..one time i held for 24 minutes..the support got on the line and i was on mute for 3-5 seconds..and they hung up immediately after. After i waited 24 min. Recently i was on hold for about 12-13 minutes..the support agent got on the phone he took another 5-10 minutes to look into the policy so i was holding for about 20-25 min..after he answered my question..i asked if i can put him on hold briefly because i wanted to ask a question to one of my partners about the decision that was made by americo..and he was not cordial when i asked him to hold..i told him "hey i just want to ask a question to someone here.." again he was reluctant and not cordial just to wait a minute. I said "i just waited 20-25 minutes in silence for you to do your job and also to get on the phone, isnt fair for me to just have you wait 1 minute so i can ask someone here a question, before i let you guys go?" and support agent said "no, call back" and he hung up. Terrible service.
