Don't do business with this company. They are unorganized. If you have to change anything on your policy, they will tell you it's done, but NOT REALLY DONE! YOU may be leaving your benefits to an X-WIFE instead of your present wife or children!!! Don't TRUST Assurity insurance!!! They are incompetent!!!!

Good idea however they wouldn't give me life insurance. But they were happy to give me accidental life insurance which on my post policy it said I can't cave dive all kinds of stuff you know hiking stuff like that if I would have died in those type of situations they would not provide and take care of means I basically can't do anything with my kids like to rock climb and all kinds of stuff however it was posted that they wouldn't cover me and my kids if I died in those type of situations including suicide.!?!?

After months of badgering interviews, (I felt like I was being interviewed by the FBI and they were extremely rude) I was denied life insurance for a history of depression that has been long resolved. Even though they are insurance company I expected just a little civility and customer service. I was wrong. If you've ever taken a mild antidepressant or have EVER had any treatable medical condition, don't bother applying. This company is a joke. I got accepted for life insurance in just a couple weeks with a much better company.

Beyond dissatisfied & irate with Assurity. I've been paying premiums to them monthly for Short-Term Disability & went out on Maternity Leave taking a full 12 weeks with the peace of mind that I would be receiving a check from Assurity to supplement my income. Instead, I gave birth to my daughter March 1, returned to work on May 21 & here on June 22nd have still yet to receive a check. Though irrelevant to my claim, Assurity has requested medical records from the last 5 years for my history. I've provided them with the information they requested (on more than one occasion) & no one can seem to give me an estimate on when I can expect a check. I'm simply told they are still awaiting medical records (for doctors I only saw once & sure as heck would never have known names for or given them information for - how many of you know names of Urgent Care or ER docs you've seen? Yeah, me neither) & once they receive all, they will be reviewed. They can't tell me if we're talking weeks, months, years or what....meanwhile, we have mortgage payments, car payments, medical bills from the birth of our daughter & $60 bucks to live off of until next period thanks to this. I've left 2 messages for the Claims Manager Marcy Baker & have yet to hear back. I asked for Marcy's manager & instead got the analyst working on the case. Don't go to them...go to AFLAC. I got my check in less than a month with AFLAC when I had my first child.

I have accidental insurance through them. Payment was fairly fast but not as much as I hoped for.
