I first contacted BDM on 1/17/2025 about doing my taxes. Two weeks later on 1/30/2025 I had a short conversation with an employee who asked me basic onboard info and he said that an accountant would reach out in 3 weeks to start my taxes. Today, on 2/18/2025 I received an email from the firm saying that they aren't taking on new clients and wishing me luck. This puts me in a difficult situation finding a new accountant this late into the season. It is also highly unprofessional to string me along for a full month just to tell me they aren' taking on new clients. So to recap:
1. 1/17/2025 I contact BDM.
2. 1/30/2025 BDM calls me to ask me basic onboard questions. I'm told that an accountant will reach out in 3 weeks to do my taxes.
3. 2/18/2025 I receive an email saying they're not taking on new clients, even though they told me last month they would.

Find an accountant who respects your time, because this firm certainly does not.

I've been working with Boyle, Deveny, & Meyer since 2013. I can't say enough about how much I appreciate working with this firm. It's never a surprise when I learn of friends and business acquaintances who've had similarly excellent experiences to mine. The entire staff is courteous, professional, and knowledgeable. Most importantly, they're patient with me when questions come up or I'm chasing a deadline at the last minute.

What bad business practice.
This company does not return calls emails and they are very unprofessional. Not happy after less than a year dealing with them. They were recommended by my lawyer and I’m incredibly disappointed.

Unprofessional to say the least. After being recommended by my lawyer, I called them multiple times in which they took some questions and said someone will get back with me because the senior partners weren't taking new clients. Silence. I guess getting a new client worth millions wasn't very appealing so I highly recommend never using such unprofessional people.

Zero knowledge for quotes for different types of businesses. Insisted that not knowing was “industry standard.” Inquired about the business & when spoken about suggested we were off topic and he could no longer help. I was then hung up on.
