Nice short trail with benches. We saw a lot of different birds (Prothonotary Warbler, Eastern Kingbird, Brown-headed Nuthatch, etc) and 4 cranes fly by. Don’t forget to check out the visitor center, which has nice educational displays, a shop and a 12-minute video about the refuge.

Walking through the Mississippi Savanna on this trail was a unique experience! It’s a kid friendly 3/4 mile loop with lots of plants. This haven was a highlight of our trip to MS. We learned so much!

Great are for a stroll. Pets are allowed on a leach. Some parts of the trail might be muddy.

Beautiful scenery, informative models, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Ahh, sit on a bench and meditate your worries away in an oxygen rich wet pine savanna ecosystem, one of the last of it's kind, sadly. Cheer up, it still thrives with the help of dedicated staff. Check it out.

Really enjoyable easy hike with some nice views of several ecosystems. We saw a number of Eastern fence lizards and blue corporal dragonflies as well as birds.
