As I was planning to retire from my Veterans Administration position in about a year, I attended a seminar given by Mr. Rick Bavetz on retirement from the Federal govt system in 2018. I came away fully impressed by his knowledge of the "old" (CSRS) and "new" (FERS) federal retirement systems and how to maximize the benefits provided by the federal retirement systems. My wife and I then met with Mr. Bavetz at his office in Westlake Village and over the course of several face-to-face meetings, he put together a sound plan for our retirement income (my wife had a non-Federal 401k plan) incorporating both our retirement holdings and also gave some really good advice on our upcoming Social Security benefits and maximizing those benefits. He compared the proposed strategy to the retirement investments that we currently had and found that in the long run, we could have a more secure income stream with my Veterans Administration annuity, our social security benefits, our 401k plans, and our current IRAs by following his proposed strategy. Needless to say, it was a "no-brainer" to move what we had with another investment firm that did not have the breadth of knowledge of Federal retirement to be overseen by Carington. We have been more than pleased to be with Mr. Bavetz as he checks in with us annually, but also when he continues to research better strategies for our portfolio especially in the more recent leaner times, and has advised us to make changes for the better. Mr. Bavetz' team of Carolyn Brown and Jamie Weiss have been extremely responsive to our questions and ensuring that changes move along quickly as needed and distributions from our retirement sources are handled expeditiously. Mr. Bavetz has also worked with our daughter and her young family to get a good start in preparing them for a more secure future. My wife and I feel very secure with how our retirement funds have been managed. Again, I cannot emphasize any more strongly that Mr. Bavetz' knowledge of both Federal and non-federal retirement planning is a significant plus to any retiree or planned retiree and especially to those individuals in a Federal job to allow for maximum benefit and security in retirement.

We had our annual update with Rick this morning. He continues to make meaningful and helpful suggestions to work with our portfolio to try to maximize our assets in retirement by balancing more aggressive components with conservative ones and giving us peace of mind in these transactions. I don't think one can find a better and more diligent financial advisor than Rick!
