Not many words can express when everything falls apart and you need and adjuster. Basically something terrible has happened and you need insurance. But maybe you need help because it’s a lot work dealing with insurance. Well it doesn’t have to be. Make one call and mike and Mike will take care of everything for you from start to finish!!! It made my pipes freezing and breaking a much smoother experience. I didn’t lose any money with insurance and was able to not worry about anything getting done or loosing any money. They held my hand every step of the way. So glad I didn’t do it on my own. I highly recommend all the way while going through something tragic just calling in the pros to help guide you through it. Homeowners BEWARE!!!

Initially, Mr. Dean Rentzos seemed to want to help me with my insurance claim. I contacted Certified Adjusters three days after notifying my homeowners of damage caused by a storm because my insurance seemed to rush everything in a short time frame and something didn’t seem right. With a calm, softspoken and confident demeanor, I felt that this guy was who I needed to handle my insurance claim.
During the initial meeting with Mr. Rentzos, we went over my insurance policy/coverage, the adjuster contract and the commission fees which he stated were 20% or “20 cents to the dollar.” He confirmed this “20 cents to the dollar” fee more than once. Furthermore, he also mentioned how “a payout of $500,000 was possible if someone were to get injured on my property” (while looking at my significant other at the time). That should have been a huge red flag.
But as a single mother with a 60 hour work week, a short window time for the initial meeting and a fussing infant, it was easy to miss certain important pieces to the puzzle...specifically, a scribbled "35%" fee written by Rentzos on one of the few pages that were a requirement to sign. Again, due to the short window time, fussing infant in my arms, my son with medical issues asking me questions this "35%" scribbled in the fee section, was easily missed. Which is totally on me. I had taken his word for it when he stated “20 cents to the dollar” multiple times throughout our consult. And before signing I even asked again "so it's 20 cents to every dollar?" Which he responded with "correct."
After receiving the check, I noticed the commission fee was 35%, not the 20% he said more than once. I located the paperwork and after reviewing the discrepancy, I contacted Rentzos and spoke with him figuring it was a honest mistake on his behalf and would be corrected. I quickly realized this was not the case as Rentzos continued to lie and stated he never mentioned 20%. He advised me he would never be able to do 20% because the insurance company already attempted to pay prior to acquiring his services. Rentzos also stated 35% would have been the minimum fee and it should have been higher so I’m lucky it wasn’t 65%. I'm sorry, but 35% as a minimum fee for this service...is absurd. He also continued to minimize the situation by telling me I should be thankful I was able to receive more than originally offered by my homeowners insurance. Well, of course, that's what his services were supposed to do...the issue is him telling me it was going to be “20 cents to the dollar” multiple times and taking advantage of a situation and not being true to his word. Again, this never would have been signed if I knew the fee was 35%.
Life is already hard enough, but I do not ever want anyone to fall victim to this scam artist. And I urge everyone not take someone's word as being set in stone or accurate and truthful, and to review whatever printed documents are presented. This adjuster had no issues with being a dishonest man.
