I’m not even sure this company is real, and if it is, it is 100% a scam. Even with evidence of a covered event, they use one single company to assess the damage and interpret the reports and assessments by roofers and plumbers in ways that are not consistent with what happened to deny coverage. Not only do they deny coverage for the event, but also for mitigation and repairs.

This has now happened twice. Once with a roof where they received a detailed report showing the cause of the damage and they still used the single and only company they allow to assess the damage to say it was a completely different problem using zoomed out photos. The second was a plumbing issue where they are denying coverage of an overflow of water because they’re saying it was a water backup from a blockage, when my plumber’s report clearly states that water overflowed into the tubs because of bad fittings.

During my first experience with them, the did nothing for over 30 days to mitigate the fact there was a roof leaking into my home and denied the claim past the 30 days required by law. They did not return my phone calls until they called over a month later to deny it.

Clay hangs up on you and Rebecca threatens to hang up anytime you ask for a clarification and talks over you when you’re asking questions. This is the absolute sketchiest company I’ve ever come in contact with. I’m not even sure the service you’re paying for even offers any type of coverage because they’ll just ignore expert’s reports and have their single company they send out make up an interpretation of the issue that isn’t accurate or even remotely similar to what happened or is reported directly to them. They also aren’t concerned with mitigating issues to prevent further damage until they can find a way to have their only company they use create a completely false assessment of the issue, even with evidence showing it’s false.

I asked for over 30 days what the specific details of the appeal process were and they just kept dodging the question. They only detailed the appeal process AFTER they denied the appeal they didn’t give me details how to file. The appeal was done by the same three people who originally denied it. No outside party or individual was used.

These ppl would get a negative (-10) if I could. These ppl are crooks. I got insurance thru them on October 30. When you make monthly payments everywhere else monthly payments are every 30 days. I just paid $145 to get the insurance and they are taking payment on the the 20th. I have proof where they sent me a email and you don't actually get to see the insurance plan until after you sign at AMAX. Then they send you all the info and actual insurance card on Email

If I could give zero stars I would.

I got in a accident with a common wealth insurance holder, Pablo Cepeda, on may 29th, 2024. Their policy holder was at fault for the accident and the company admitted fault. When it was time to get my car fixed, the adjuster, Richard Gomez, asked me to provide him three repair shops I would prefer to take my car to. The accident happened in Seattle, Washington. Richard homes denied the three shops I provided because he said they were too expensive. He then told that his policy was in Arizona, and he was looking to pay the rates of Arizona in Washington state to fix my car. I told him that he was not gonna find those rates here because of the difference in prices but he proceeded to tell me there must be a shop. He asked me to send him three more shops. Keep in mind that the shops I sent him are average rate here in Washington. I sent him ten difference one for him to pick from so I can get my car fixed. He finally picked one auto repair shop that was the cheapest one. The auto repair shop was not good at communicating with him or me. As you can tell, it is the cheapest one out here so quality can suffer both in repair and communication. Two months after the accident, I had to go into the shop in person to try to get a form for Richard that he needed. I finally get the form after the shop took a look at my car and determine that my bumper needs to be replaced. So I sent Richard the form the shop provided me, and he says that it’s too expensive for them to fix it. He wants to repair, not replace the bumper. Then he tells me that I need to go through my insurance to get it fixed because it is too expensive for them, even though their policy holder was at fault for the accident. I reached out to better business bureau to get a mediator involved in this matter. Common wealth replied back twice and stopped replying without solving the issue. So now I have a damaged vehicle that I can’t fixed because they refused to pay the cost of fixing it.

This is a predatory company that aims at paying the bare minimum to fix issues. Their goal is to save as much money as possible with little regards to people’s property. Very disappointed and unhappy with their customer service and values of the company!

If I could leave less than 1 star, I would. Good luck getting return calls or answers on your claim. Got rear ended by one of their policyholders. Then they tried to claim that the damage was too extensive so I must have either been in a previous wreck, or the body shop I used (that has the best reputation in town and a 6-8 week wait to get vehicles in for repair) damaged it on purpose to boost the claim. So they stopped my claim a week after I put it into the body shop, cancelled my rental car while mine was in pieces and un drivable, so they “could investigate the claim.” They couldn’t give us a timeline on how long this process would take. Then they didn’t return calls or keep us up to date on what was going on. The body shop called and told us the company appraiser showed up unannounced finally a month later. Only way that we found out anything, even after he’d left. We didn’t even hear back that commonwealth had agreed to fix the car. So after paying a rental for 3 weeks out of pocket, we filed under my own insurance to get my car fixed, and to get a rental covered just so we could get to work still. Commonwealth finally stepped back into the claim, but when the body shop didn’t meet the updated estimated completion date while waiting for more parts, commonwealth refused to extend payment for the rental for the next 10 days. So now I’m on the hook for another 400$ for 10 days of rental coverage, plus the 3 weeks I’d already spent. So pray to god you never have to file a claim with these people. Worst customer service from any insurance company that I’ve ever dealt with. And I’ve been driving almost 40 years. Cut rate car insurance at its finest.

STAY AWAY THIEVES AND CON ARTISTS
If I could make this a more negative review, I would. Lied about covered damages. Then, they claimed multiple false claims. Then, I raised the amount by 4 times the amount. After paying that, they canceled the account, telling my mortgage that I had requested to be canceled with them on the phone they said that they were called and requested to cancel the policy. When on the phone, they said they needed proof of repairs that were never needed. From years before, they tried to relate to a leaking pipe from a bathtub that somehow was tied to a roof leak They claimed the 4 missing roof shingles caused the roof to leak under the bathtub but not from the roof? HERE IS THE WORST PART. BECAUSE THEY HAVE MULTIPLE CLAIMS GETTING ANOTHER COMPANY FOR COVERAGE WILL COST EVEN MORE DUE TO THE MULTIPLE FALSE CLAIMS ON THE POLICY.

DON'T USE THEM THEY STEAL AND DON'T PAY
I have to give star to leave a review. I wouldn't give them any stars. The are my insurance company for my home in tonto basin az. We had a bad wind and rain storm recently. I hired a roofing contractor to inspect and deal with the insurance. After a month of negotiations commonwealth cut all communications with the roofer. Sent a 32.83 check to replace my roof snd then i received a cancelation notice the same day i got the check. 75 % of the damaged homes on my street have already been repaired by their insurance company. And yes i have spoken to all of them we are a small town. I will be posting this in our local newspaper also so no one else gets ripped off by this company. A letter will be sent to title company and local insurance representative. DON'T USE THEM.

Incredibly unprofessional and inconsistent. Raised rates on me substantially every new policy term, for three years, although I never had a single incident. Will charge minor fees and penalties without reason and without notice. And then charge you to cancel once you’ve had enough. Scam company.

BEWARE: STAY AWAY
When the huge storm came thru back in July of 2021, it blew off my barn roof, damaged my house roof to the point when it was raining I had to place bowls down in my house. The damage opened up my house to roof rats, Common wealth refused to pay for the damage, A lawyer, PA, and even hired a special engineer to come help with my case. They reported traffic damage to my roof, ( Made me laugh ( Santa ain’t real). Again dragging their feet on getting back with people involved. Everyone involved always claimed they are a huge pain to deal with. Now 2023, company still has not made it right and I had to finance against my house to get this issues fixed. Horrible company and they won’t take care of you when your in need. Their insurance motto makes me laugh they don’t do anything like they say.
