My CPA retired and sold out to Cornbelt. We tried them last year for our personal taxes and our mother's. They eventually got the job done, but with very poor communication. We never got the actual CPA to return our calls or emails, only one of his assistants. They filed an extension for our mother with no warning or explanation and no estimated payment calculations. We found another CPA for 2024's returns.
Cornbelt billed us on 1/1/25 for a deposit on this year with no advance invoice or notification.
Edit: The company responded to our emails late the same day, refunded our deposit bills, pointed out that we signed a recurring authorization last year, and requested that we revise this review to account for that. I changed the review from 1 star to 3 accordingly.

Found this company through an acquisition of an accounting firm I used for years and was happy with. Unfortunately, when Cornbelt took over, they were understaffed and unprepared to handle the new volume of tax returns.

Received nice welcome letters, but failed to ever setup an introduction or send an engagement document as promised. I had to reach out to ask if I was going to get setup with a portal access to share my tax documents. They failed to complete my taxes before filing deadline with no notice or communication. I had to call in multiple times to ask for an extension to be filed. Never received an apology or heard them take accountability for their poor service.

Extremely frustrating company. Only use if you are okay reaching out dozens of times to never get a response.

I received an email months after I sent it, and calls with no call back or note regarding the topic. Just not a great partner. I found a new CPA for half the price and reasonable communication expectations.
