I just want to give high praise to my new insurance agent, Gabriela Arritola of American National, for getting my life insurance policy re-instated. Other agents tried and failed. After moving from North Dakota to Colorado last year, American National assigned me a new agent, who I contacted and told him I had Home, Life, and Auto insurance with American National and to please update all my contact information and new bank account. He failed to do that with my Life insurance and it lapsed without my knowledge and it was canceled. I only learned of it from an email in October asking why I canceled. I was quite upset, and responded telling them I never intended to cancel. I called the original agent from North Dakota who wrote the policy and he tried to get it reinstated. American National had me jump through many hoops, then ultimately denied my request for reinstatement.
When my homeowners policy expired in April, I did not renew it and canceled my auto.
In January of 2023, my old agent had moved on and American National assigned Gabriela Arritola as my new agent. When I canceled, she immediately contacted me to find out why. I explained what happened to my Life insurance and I feel that if you cancel one policy, you cancel all. In my view American National had canceled my policies.
She contacted the “higher ups”, warning them that I was going to seek legal counsel in an attempt to recover all my premiums for 10 years. Furthermore, she let them know that she agreed with me, and given the facts, I had a very good case.
Days later, my Life insurance was reinstated with payment of the past premiums.

BRAVO GABRIELA!
