Reason I used Joel Lee's company was to sign up for health insurance and have the agent help me with any future issues. Initially, Clarissa was helping me and doing a good job but in December 2024, I needed to get end of year reports and learned Clarissa was no longer employed here. So I emailed and called Joel who quickly called me back and gave me the information I needed. The following day, I realized I needed to cancel my insurance as $850+ a month was just too much. For the following 3 days, I called and left messages for Joel 3 times informing him of my intent to cancel and need for his assistance. I also emailed him of which I never received any reply. Instead, I had to figure it out on my own and fortunately the Anthem folks helped me out. So I guess Joel's company is fine if you're paying him but upon learning I was to cancel, it was purely crickets. Not cool!

I was pleased until this year when their service took a serious nose dive! I contacted them right at the beginning of open enrollment to get my insurance in place ASAP. They said they would get back to me with options and then I never heard from them. I finally reached back out and they seemed confused about things. I then had to wait for info about options which they briefly gave me a run down over the phone, didn't even get emailed options to see and review. I then decided to think on it because the options were terrible. I then reached back out to see if we could find other plans and they said ok but then never sent them to me. I followed up again which was met with again, no email back! I finally got a new broker and she said the plan that the Joel Lee office gave me was a bad option bc there was another plan with a deductible that was almost 5k cheaper!!!!!!! I am thankful Joel Lees office ghosted me because I now have a great new broker!

Joel and his assistants are very nice and helped make sense of the confusing CO Health Marketplace website but they are not great with giving complete information, following up with information or to questions or being cost conscious of the client. It seems like Joel wants to get you signed up then on to the next person and you are in their rear view mirror. There is no client relationship except the endless requests to post reviews. You get face time with Joel in deciding on policies, but he has his assistants finish up with you so there are redundancies and missed information probably because there is not one person who is dealing with you from start to finish or maybe they just don’t care.

After I told Joel about an MRI result that would not be received until the following month, he still had me apply for a supplemental policy he told me would likely be rejected due to the MRI. He told me I would just need to submit the MRI results showing it is normal and the policy would be effective. I did timely submit it but it wasn’t effective and they did not tell me it wasn’t effective. Sometime later we had our credit card frozen due to a security breach and Joel’s office notified me about changing the payment on three policies, instead of four, that is when I found out that I never had coverage and had to reapply with an additional application fee! He nor his office was apologetic or owned up to their oversight/mistake of not following up to confirm if the policy was/wasnt approved after I submitted the MRI report to them. No one in his office ever addressed if they even submitted the report I sent. They just acted as if that was totally okay to waste my time and money the first time. I was very lucky that nothing happened to me during that time I thought I was covered but wasn’t. If he would have told me I would need to reapply if I were to be rejected because of the impending MRI and pay another application fee, of course I would have waited to get that policy. Instead, I submitted what I was told and they never said anything about it until I caught the error in the number of policies we were supposed to have. I didn’t feel great about his practice after that.

Later, the quotes for a couple supplemental policies went up by almost $100. Since he didn’t respond to my e-mail, I had to call to get that worked out. I didn’t want to deal with Joel again, but had to after I figured out there were no local providers under the health plan we signed up with despite the insurer’s website listing many local practitioners (most of whom had stopped taking that insurance at least a year before he signed us up). I signed up with another health plan that later went out of business. After the company notified me, I called his office and to my surprise his assistant already knew this but no one there thought to reach out to me to ensure I wouldn’t be without health insurance. I had it with them and signed up with another broker with whom we haven’t had any unpleasant surprises, omissions or disappointments.

Joel and his team have helped us since my wife and I retired. First with getting medical and dental plans on the Marketplace and then with transitioning over to Medicare plans. They have been extremely helpful and have taken a lot of work and worry off our hands. Also, we live in Phoenix and that has been no problem. We just work via phone, email, and zoom. If you want to make it easy on yourself call Joel.

My experience working with Joel and his team of professionals for my health insurance needs has been incredible. Joel is extremely knowledgeable (and patient) when explaining all the options and considerations when choosing a plan that works best for his clients'
individual situation. He and/or his team is available to answer any questions I have had after a meeting for circumstances that may arise,
which in my opinion is invaluable in such a complicated industry.
I have been so pleased with his service I've referred several of my
friends to him and he has been able to save them money, time and frustration with his expertise. I highly recommend Joel and his team!
