It started when Allstate denied my roof claim for hail damage. My roofer suggested I try a public adjuster, so I hired Elliott Claim Services. Over the course of a few months they tried to get Allstate to approve the claim but didn't get ANY results. The PA doesn't have any real power, so Allstate basically ignored them. Eventually they gave up and said I should hire an attorney.

I did hire an attorney, and through the attorney we eventually mediated with Allstate and I settled on a fair price for the roof claim.

The reason I'm giving Elliott Claim Services 1 star is because they didn't get any results but still got 10% of the payout I received. The amount is several thousand dollars which I don't think they earned, and it leaves me less money to actually get my roof replaced. If Elliott Claim Services was able to get the claim approved then all is well with their fee, but in this case it was the attorney and me who actually earned the settlement. As part of the lawsuit with Allstate we hired several public adjusters to write reports on the roof and serve as expert witnesses. They all charged about half of what Elliott Claim Services was paid.

The 10% fee is in the contract I signed so I have to honor that but I want to post a warning for future customers. If you're getting nowhere with a denied property damage claim it might be better to skip the PA and go right to an attorney. There's a good chance you'll end up with more money in your pocket in the end.

Two years later and they got their 10% cut from our settlement and all they did was not answer the phone and do one inspection. Dont do it. I don’t recommend them.
