Our Malibu home has been insured for years by Farmers Insurance and when our trusted agent retired, the account was randomly assigned to another agent in the general vicinity. When we reached out to review our policy, we were very dismayed to find our new agent completely unresponsive. In fact, we learned later that he also didn't fulfill his responsibility to process the renewal paperwork we had submitted to his office. This was going to present another problem later, as we discovered when we insisted that the account be transferred to the Delgado Agency (Bruce Delgado - Farmers Insurance, Westlake Village, CA), who had been highly recommended.

Suffice it to say that Shannon Delgado is the antithesis of the former representative. Shannon was empathetic from the start as she led us through the process of having Farmers accept the transfer, which now also involved overcoming a potential disruption of coverage due to the above-mentioned former agent's neglect. It's telling of Shannon's character that she never belittled her predecessor despite his being deserving of being called out for his ineptitude. The transfer and acceptance took a few weeks and interfered with our desire to increase our coverage, with Shannon in constant contact with us for required missing information and to provide status reports. The policy was transferred and in full force just days before the incomprehensible Palisades Fire.

Shannon Delgado is a major asset to Farmers who deserves recognition and should receive a commendation for her extraordinary compassion and proactive work ethic. (Although we have not yet worked with Bruce Delgado, there's no doubt that the experience we've had with Shannon reflects the overall ethos of their agency.) And...yes, our home in Malibu was completely destroyed by the Palisades Fire. Unsurprisingly, Shannon has been her proactive self and is currently guiding us to connect with the appropriate people who we will work with to hopefully expedite the claim process. Needless to say, we continue to benefit from Shannon's personal, emotional support as we navigate through this cataclysmic loss. This level of compassion is not a requirement in a general job description, but it is invaluable!
