I would not recommend Farmers Insurance to anyone. If you want some kind of insurance don't come looking here RUN. Myself and my wife were told by 2 people that we were going to receive a big refund but we got a really small one. So go somewhere else for any insurance.
"FARMERS INSURANCE YOU SUCK"
If I didn't have to give a Star I would not give them one they deserve it.

Our building had Farmer’s Insurance with our HOA. A Farmer’s agent bought a unit and within two years filed two claims against our HOA’s policy without going to the HOA board or her insurance policy. Farmer’s gave her two settlement payouts and canceled our insurance. This is against the law!!! We are filing a report with the California Insurance Commission. I hope their employee enjoys the bonus’s they gave her because we are going after her license too. This was a setup from the day she moved in.

So far, I love my agent and the product itself seems good.

But their website has an atrocious misfeature where it will prompt you to allow marketing emails at EVERY SINGLE LOGIN unless you allow them to SPAM you.

For this reason, I'm going to rate the corporate HQ as a 'two star' and give the five-star review to my local agent instead.

On October 25th farmers client pulled out in front of me this is 5 days after I turn 67 a month later after the accident they get to my car they want to take pictures and do my estimate I said oh no then they want me to take the car to a shop they prefer no take it to the I prefer the car got totaled out they take everything but $500 my car went on hands in December 16th which is Monday I'm without a car 67 years old I had a car before your client for that pulled out in front of me it would cost less than $1,000 to make me whole so I'm without a rental car On Monday Social Security allows me a three day part time job $8 an hour I'm going to lose it because now I don't have a vehicle because they wouldn't make me whole less than $1,000 to make me whole and they wouldn't do it farmers I'm not done with you yet not yet at all because I'm calling the insurance commissioner on Monday a 67 year old woman has been driving since I was 16 and the first time I won't have a car I won't even to be able to go to a job because you would not pay less than $1,000 to make her whole and was too cheap to pay the five extra hundred dollars to pay them the car
she had oh by the way everybody your client was made whole from the October wreck happened but not the senior citizen not the one that she pulled out front of was not made whole a senior citizen 67 less than $1,000 would have made her whole and now she's without a car was a part-time job at $8 now because you couldn't pay less than thousand dollars to make her hope wait to hear from the insurance commissioner farmers

I feel like I’ve played a game of What’s my Line? They use addresses for General Insurance in PA, Met Life in RI, billing in PA and receipts from Woodland Hills, CA. Will the real Farmer’s please stand up?
Seriously, this is no joke. This company should be prosecuted for theft. The agent in RI with a CA address wrote a policy for me for three cars and a house- and provided discounts for this large policy on Dec 2023. She had me complete certain paperwork for an 8 percent reduction, among others, and neglected to forward the paperwork to her back office or instruct me where to send it. Her name was Matti Whetmore. The policies were set up and payments were made. When I went to remove one vehicle in June 2024 (6 months later) Farmers decided to charge me (bill me) for a discount that I was already receiving - claiming the form that gave me the discount was not on file- mind you I provided that form in December 2023 to their supposed RI insurance officer in RI who had a Met Life name on the address on Google. Lol. They had not sent me any notice over the 6 months that the form was needed, or a discount would be dropped nor that I owed anything from Dec through June. As far as I was concerned the bill for all vehicles and homeowners was paid in full!
When I did send them
The form and spoke with representatives at least 6 times, they told me a manager would call. No manager called so I have given up on them BUT it is their loss of this customer for 30 years of lost premiums from me ( probably at least $125,000) because they refused to refund me the 6 months totally $237 and they kept the lousy extra $70 and only refunded me $167 instead of $237. The company is not only not honest but just plain stupid. I have had other good companies - you know who they are so stick with an honest company!!

I went to Farmers Insurance about a year ago when I found out my employer could get me a discount with Farmers. By switching to Farmers, they were able to reduce my monthly rates by almost $80/month. Today, on 3.21.24, over a year later, I received a letter in the mail informing me that they are raising my rates by nearly the same amount. When I called to inquire about the reason, I received a corporate playbook excuse about a statewide recalculation. Nothing about my vehicle or driving habits, nothing personal. Coincidentally, the $80 increase sets my monthly payment back to what it was before I joined Farmers and began receiving my work discount. Additionally, according to Google, Farmers had a profit of $778 million, and their parent company Zurich reported profits of $1.7 billion. Clearly, they are not struggling financially, yet, because state law requires insurance and certain coverages, they can impose this increase on me. I will definitely be looking for a different insurance provider. It is no coincidence that they are raising my rate back to what they knew I was capable of paying as it is going to be almost the same amount as before I joined Farmers to receive my employers discount.

I called Farmer's today trying to get in touch with someone about submitting proof of insurance to my state's (SC) DMV after I was issued an FR-10/Verification of Insurance form following an accident. After navigating the absurd automated menu options, literally the 1st person I spoke to, who said her name was Shekirah, said she could not find my policy despite my policy no. being completely accurate. She ended up hanging up on me while I was trying to explain to her that there are no local agents in my state I could call for the issue. I ended up getting bounced back & forth between 7 more people who were equally unhelpful, just to finally find out that Farmer's HQ cannot access my policy since I'm insured in SC, & that the only way to get help was to use the live chat feature on the Farmer's Direct webpage. In short, I spent over an hour on the phone trying to get help bc none of the people at Farmer's HQ knew or thought to tell me that the process of contacting a representative is different in my state. After nearly 2 hrs, I finally reached someone on the chat feature who could get me the right phone no. to call, & everyone I spoke to from then on out was helpful, but everyone prior was not. The fact that Farmer's HQ cannot access my policy bc of the state I'm in is insane to me, & the unprofessionality of some of their phone reps is also unacceptable. The only reasons I'm not canceling is bc of the accident I was just involved in/needing my car repairs covered, & the fact that the last few people I spoke with genuinely seemed to care about my situation & were able to arrange proof of insurance being sent to the DMV. Regardless, I expect better.

I am sorry to write such a bad review because there are some good people who work for farmers and are very helpful. The date is 5/15/24, on 4/29 I was involved in motor vehicle accident. Farmers gave me a claims adjuster Chaz hedges. Chaz helped me set up an estimate to get my vehicle looked at. I then decided to go to a shop of my choice and requested a check. He told me no problem and I’ll get a confirmation email and expect a check with in 10 days, this was may 3rd. I never got the confirmation email so I called, left messages, had another adjuster reach out to him and even texted him on the txt line we had used on may 3rd. Chaz would not fallow up with me. I did get ahold of him after jumping through some hoops in the claims department. He acted like it was no big deal to not fallow up so I’m assuming this is standard practice at farmers. 12 days go by and no check. I pushed back my body Shop appointment and paid them 10% out of my own pocket to have them just order some parts. I was determined to get answers today and was able to talk to his supervisor who said no check was wrote and no email was sent. (Meanwhile my vehicle is smashed and I’ve had to move my repair appointment) the supervisor didn’t even know if she could get me a check or direct deposit but she was helpful. But I was left with an “idk” and it’s been 16+ days since my accident. I called claims and was able to reach another supervisor who also does not return calls. At this point I’m feeling pretty helpless with farmers. So I called again and was able to talk to another nice helpful person in claims who let me know (via reading the internal notes) a check was finally written but wrote out to my wife (not me) and the last supervisor I called claimed to have left me a voicemail(no voicemail sorry sue). At this point (after talking to 2 of Chaz’s supervisors) he finally calls me back and even txted me. Unfortunately I’m feeling very let down by him and I don’t pick up the phone. I did txt him back and let him know I got the check coming so he can hold tight. I am thankful to hopefully be actually getting a Check for my repair. I’m thankful for the kind people in the claims department but the adjuster made me feel like this company doesn’t care about its customers until a supervisor gets involved. I am a kind hearted individual and treated Everyone in the up most respected during this ordeal and feel I was treated very unfair. I honestly don’t like ruffling feathers and making extra phone calls like this as it shouldn’t have to happen. If this company does strive for greatness then I do hope he can get the training he needs. Unfortunately my wife and I have decided we will be looking at other insurance options.
