Steer Clear of this Office

I regret to say that my experience with Farmers Insurance agent Karen has been nothing short of a nightmare. I entrusted Karen's office to handle my insurance needs for both my rental property in Joshua Tree, CA, and my primary residence in Austin, TX. However, their mishandling of my personal information and policy writing has left me deeply frustrated and dissatisfied.

In a single phone call, Karen's office wrote a Landlord's policy for my property in Joshua Tree and a Renters policy for my home in Austin. When I sought to add an Umbrella Policy to cover both properties, Karen's office informed me that because I had a Renters policy instead of a secondary home policy, Farmers couldn't write the Umbrella policy. They then proceeded to outsource the policy to Markel Insurance.

To make matters worse, Karen's office filled out the application for Markel Insurance using incorrect information, stating that my primary residence was in Joshua Tree and my apartment in Austin was a Landlords policy, despite knowing that the opposite was true. This egregious misuse of personal information not only put my insurance coverage at risk but also jeopardized my financial security.

After paying two terms of premiums on the Umbrella policy, I discovered that it was invalid from the start because Karen was not licensed in the state of Texas to write the policy. Markel Insurance rightfully canceled the policy, leaving me without coverage and out of pocket over $1200.

Despite these glaring mistakes, neither Markel Insurance nor Farmers has taken responsibility for their actions or offered any refund. Their refusal to acknowledge their errors and rectify the situation is deeply concerning and speaks to their lack of integrity and professionalism.

I urge anyone considering Farmers Insurance or working with agent Karen to proceed with caution. My experience serves as a cautionary tale of the consequences of entrusting your insurance needs to incompetent and dishonest agents.

If I could give a zero here I would. This is the WORST insurance agent that we've ever NOT dealt with. It is IMPOSSIBLE to contact him regarding a policy, yet he's quick to take the money for that policy. He does not care about clients, it seems.

Karen is great at what she does, She has been our agent since 2016. We have made some changes to our policy over the years. She has always ensured that we get exactly what we need and want. Unfortunately I can not say the same for her office staff. I called in to ask a question about our policy and spoke with Stephanie.. Stephanie provided me with poor customer service and could use some training on phone etiquette. For a while I felt like I was the employee and she was the customer. Not nice Stephanie.
