after a few years with this agency, it is clear he has no professional decency. This agency's practices are akin to that of a snake oil salesman (no offense if you sell snake oil). He sells you on a teaser rate that is too good to be true with all these discounts... he then tells you that farmers manages their assets and policies in such a fashion that you won't ever experience rate shock when it comes time to renew, explicitly stating that you can expect about a 4% increase every year... well, year 1 renewal was +18%. Year 3 renewal... +21%. All of a sudden, all the discounts you qualified for have significantly diminished in value.

Very unethical business practices, and would recommend Rick Smith and his team to no one. I received an initial quote from them in regards to car insurance for two automobiles for a premium of $1,304 annually. Based on this quote and promise that it would still be available at that price in a month, I went through all the other steps to cancel my wife's current policy and adjust things needed to fully switch over the Rick Smith and Farmer's insurance, and when I call back just over a month later, I am told there were some rate changes and things they didn't notice and it would now be $2200 annually!!! $900 more!!! Absolutely ridiculous, and terrible business practices. Instead of an apology, all I got from Rick was some sweet talking to try and get me to move to a policy with less coverage so that we could lower the premium.
