It is no coincidence that Rod Kamps, the founder and CEO of Financial Advisors Network (FAN), has been named Five Star Wealth Manager seven years in a row. His strategies are for sensible, steady gain, supported by his adept utilization of real estate in one form or another to diversify your portfolio along with the standard types of investments, by the expertise of Rohan Nakrani in the use of the Bloomberg Terminal, and by the superior tax knowledge of Alexander Krivosheev. FAN fees are very reasonable for the excellent service provided -- a feature not often found in the financial management industry. On the other hand, my experience and observation of some other firms is that if the fees are too good to be true, there can be a negative reason such as highly limiting, cookie-cutter philosophies and/or lack of proper licensing. FAN is independent, and Rod and his highly qualified advisors and paraplanners working with his philosophies are fee based, so there's no conflict of interest. Low cost classes are taught by FAN at Irvine Valley College. Even if you have been doing your own planning, you will learn a lot, but I also think you will want to sign on!
