The cost is reasonable for their standard rates. We have not taken the trip therefore have not needed to make any claims, but we are happy that we can hope to get some compensation if anything goes awry before, during or after our trip. While purchasing, the only reason for a 4 instead of a 5 is not having the reassurance of actually talking to someone as I made the purchase, being old school.

Would give zero stars if I could. This is not a customer centric company. Very poor customer service. This insurance company uses tricky methods to lock you into their travel plans. If you purchase an Airbnb stay and make payments for it the full payment for this insurance and the review period for this insurance is set when you make a down payment on the stay. No notification is sent about this within the Airbnb platform. The customer service is not empowered to cancel a policy for a trip months away because it’s been more than 10 days since I made a down payment on the trip. Actually had no idea I selected the insurance until I made the last payment. Will be sure to steer clear from this going forward. Think twice before doing business with Generali.

I was hospitalized overseas. Generali’s medical team made the call I needed an escort to get back to the country and paid for the tickets for me and the escorts- told me to pay for the accommodations of everything assuring me I would be reimbursed for all expenses. I waited over two weeks between them trying to find flights and that meaning me having find another person to come because it meant the person couldn’t come anymore to working with another person’s schedule.

I got home filed for reimbursement within days and they lost the claim in the system 3 times before I got a claim number then they denied it saying it was pre existing! I appealed and they only paid $700 of $3300 that was spent waiting as they instructed. I was blown off the last time with a give us 72 hours it has been a month- I have multiple emails in saying stay there it will be reimbursed. I sent all documentation. I am filing a complaint with the better business bureau. Do NOT use this company they do not have integrity- I really believed they did but they put me in a terrible situation at a vulnerable time. If I could give them 0 stars I would.

It is terrible to be sick when you travel but to be placed in a position where you cannot go home and get medical care by your own doctors because you are at the mercy of people making arrangements not able to work and told don’t worry it will be reimbursed and then to go home and they don’t follow through on that is horrific- my condition was separate but I came home to be tested for other serious medical conditions and my ability to work was limited this is terrible and disgusting behavior.

UPDATE: They are telling me to read their stuff, but it would have no bearing as the host canceled my rental beyond the 10 day window. Out of my control. Yet they didn't read my response either. I don't think the check is in the mail. If they would just take the time to read everything before responding...probably another robocall or AI responding anyways. Many more VRBO's in the future, just no insurance from you.

Would also give zero stars. Our host canceled our rental, but outside the 10 day window for the insurance. What a rip off. No refund. Even the stupid computer voice on their phone calls sound rude.

The "dedicated" support team is nothing more than a robocall. GENERALI - do NOT respond to this post unless you have already sent the refund and you are posting the tracking number for the check.

I was double-charged for an insurance plan for an upcoming trip, and Generali has failed to respond to this dispute despite several attempts to resolve it through normal channels. For this reason, I can no longer award the company any additional stars despite being a very long standing customer.

The insurance is a major misrepresentation from what is presented on the company website. Buyer BEWARE! It’s great to purchase an economically priced insurance. It’s another thing to get paid when a claim is filed.The communication is horrible. It is impossible to talk to claims representatives. You are forced to send messages in the portal with no response. My claim was closed prematurely with no written explanation. Phone calls are not returned. Claims are not settled in a timely manner. The portal is difficult to use. I am extremely dissatisfied and would not purchase again!

I wish I had checked the reviews before purchasing this policy through Justfly, it is worthless.

It’s better to just buy your ticket with no insurance than trusting them.
This is a scam, big scam at that, do not get the insurance, doesn’t worth it at all

Go up
