Such a huge disappointment in Lance and the ladies this year. He’s done my taxes for 7 years. I referred both my sons to him this year as they had different needs. One is an USMC with basic simple tax prep but was declined due to where he was stationed and the time difference. My second son is a traveling electrician with his base home out of Colorado. He turned in his tax documents in January and is now needing another tax person due to Lance failing to file his taxes in a timely manner. Such a disappointment!!! I always prefer praise, but their actions this year lost me as a customer.

The staff there are wonderful and knowledgeable and get back to you very quick on anything that you inquire about. They are all very friendly and always welcoming to their customers. You can tell they genuinely care about the people and the financial future of their customers. They have always helped out with any and all questions or concerns I have had about taxes or financials. Every year for more than a decade, my wife and I travel from Denver to Bennett to have our taxes prepared by Lance Grothe and his associates, and each year his work products exceed our expectations. I'm a Denver native, and at the age of 58, I've had a number of accounting firms prepare my taxes over the years - but Grothe Financial Services stands above all the rest. After all, the highway trip from Denver to Bennett is anything but scenic, so there must be a better reason to make the trip.

While the office and accountant are very friendly, and prices reasonable, it took way too long to get our taxes back. We went in early February 2018 to get our 2017 taxes done. We called a few times to check in, once in late February and on e in the middle of March. Finally, the last week of March when we called them, they said they were done and we could pick them up. Why didn’t they call us to tell us? Who knows. The paperwork was dated complete 3/13/2018, yet nobody called us, and we only found out they were done when we called them for the third time. Additionally, they farm out a large majority of the taxes to people that work from home somewhere. I’d this why it took so long? This year we went to a highly recommended guy, albeit a drive for us, but not only was it less expensive but they were done by the end of our 45 minute appointment, and we were walking out the door with our taxes in hand. So now I am wondering why our 1.5 hour appointment at Grothe didn’t yeild anywhere close to the same results. Our taxes are much the same as the previous years, as far as forms and finances etc. we will not do business here again.
