I can't thank Hillis enough for their incredible work. My home sustained significant roof damage from a storm, but my insurance company tried to downplay the amount of damage. When my insurance company was only going to pay to patch a small area of my roof, Hillis fought tirelessly and succeeded in getting my entire roof replaced. Their expertise, dedication, and persistence were outstanding. I highly recommend their services to anyone dealing with an insurance claim. Specific thanks to Lou, Nina, and Laura who helped me on this claim!

We will never use a public adjuster again. They never get back to you when they say they would and would never have any updated information as we were told. We were told they were going for a certain amount and didn't come anywhere close. Once we saw our check (after HILLIS took their money) we barely had enough to repair what needed to be completed. If we worked with our insurance company we would of had a lot more. Words of advice, WORK WITH YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY! These places rip you off!

Steer Clear!
Used them before in the past and never had a problem. This time around they dropped the ball and stopped chasing insurance company for full replacement of my roof after damaged by a tree on one slope when insurance company adjuster stated they would only replace a portion of my roof. I fired them so to speak and dealt with my insurance company directly. My insurance is now in negotiations with me to pay for a total roof replacement as their original adjuster they sent is no longer with the company which they acknowledge raises red flags. Hillis I felt was content on just making a fast buck, hit and run scenerio. Just a heads up.....nothing is in house any more. I believe they are using subcontracted adjusters. Also, their rep will tell you they only take 30% of claim check and they pay for anything else. Reality is if you read fine print they also take any and all expenses they incur on top of the 30%. So at best you still have to cover almost 50% of repairs. Thats not what we pay insurance for.
Better off handling yourself at that point.

Update.... Just got a call from my insurance company having me authorize a supplement paid to me equaling the costs Hillis charged me above their 30% commision filed one day after they notified us both they were no longer representing me and 1 day after me calling them out on it. Curious huh? Now they assume I am not intelligent to see through their games I guess. Again my advice is steer clear.

After 1 year of giving up, Colleen came in with the rescue. She asserted me to not give up and she continued until a resolution came in. I am lucky to have worked with Hillis and I appreciate everything they do for us! Sometimes you feel isolated and nothing works out in this RE business. But Hillis's team sure makes you feel like you have an army working for your best interests.
We started another claim with Hillis for our condominium association and Dan & Colleen have been professional and as expeditious as possible. Can't thank this team enough!

This group of people(entire company so friendly and professional) helped us when we had water in our basement and cannot say enough of how they helped us through a difficult time. They coordinated clean up so quickly and worked with our insurance company to help ease our costs of repair. I cannot say enough to recommend from beginning to end of this great group of people. Bob Hillis, the founding partner is a close friend after this event and has helped other family with their water damage too! Call them right away if you are hit with any house trouble unexpectedly like we were! Care, professionalism, kindness and compassion is how I describe this group!

All of you/us who ever had a situation when we had to deal with an insurance company know that it is NEVER a pleasant experience. First of all something bad possible happened. In our case a lightning strike to the building our business is located. It could be an accident and/or a natural disaster and on the top of that the lack of experience to go through the insurance process. We all heard, that saying just one thing "wrong" can even void your claim. It happened to me once!!
That is when a more than WONDERFUL public adjuster in my case HILLIS PUBLIC ADJUSTERS comes to the rescue. Mr. Hillis is an outstanding person, father,(i think 3 or 4 girls) husband just an all around good, honest hard working business man with many many years of experience. The reputation of Hillis Public adjusters is spotless!! To my case Jessica was assigned and let me tell you she fought so hard for us to get the most possible compensation for our losses and damages! I hope that i don't have to use them again, but if anything comes up the only public adjuster i will ever use is going to be HILLIS PUBLIC ADJUSTERS. With the compensation they have battled out for us we could easily replace everything the lightning strike damaged with no additional money out of our pockets!!! We are team HILLIS all the way!
