My wife and I have had our taxes prepared by Kelvin Brown and Associates for a couple of decades with the last many years by Meghan Kosma. They have prepared Taxes for us through self-employment, bankruptcy, home sales and purchases without a hitch whatsoever. They have always been prompt with great follow through. In fact we have lived out of state a few years and we still have them handle everything. As I head into retirement we have been discussing with Meghan how we will move forward and she has answered all of our questions expertly. I highly recommend Kelvin Brown and Associates.

Kelvin Brown & Associates. Had my taxes for 5 weeks, had to call in every week to try to get a response as to when my taxes would be filed. I was expecting a large return. Jackie Stevens was my tax preparer. She waited and ignored my emails for weeks waiting for my proof of insurance, which I had told her weeks PRIOR was coming but it would take a bit and that she can use my email as proof of my responsibility for that. I wrote in today to Karol asking if it was going to be 5 weeks again this year for my taxes and if they are too busy I'm happy to go somewhere else. She wrote me back rudely and defended the actions of Jackie, had incorrect dates for when they RECEIVED my taxes, and told me to go elsewhere. If you want the run around as to when your taxes will be done come here!

Please READ before you consider working with the company:

This is my 2nd year working with this company. I'm self employed and had just gone through a divorce, so I needed expert help beyond TurboTax. I worked with Megan Kozma and everything went without a hitch, in fact my refund was larger than I expected.

So this year, I expected the same great service. The 2 stars reflect the experience and expertise of Megan and her company. Why so few stars reflect the EPIC FAIL in customer service I received this year.

I had my tax appointment with Megan on Friday, February 3/2017. During that appointment, I mentioned my need to file as soon as I could as I was Refinancing my home to pay off a divorce settlement and was concerned about rising real estate interest rates. Due to being Self Employed, my 2016 taxes were needed for my application.

Megan actually completed much of the return right there during the appointment and there were just a few more #'s she needed. She gave me an email to send those #'s to. I sent in those #'s via email on 2/20/2017. So I assumed (my big mistake here!) that my taxes would be completed soon after. I called and was assured the email was received.

Then, I never heard anything else from this company. I called a couple of times in March, then April, still no info. on when my taxes would be ready to file. Finally, I called Friday, April 14, then again on Tuesday, 4/18,day taxes are due early in the morning, then a 2nd time once they were open.

I heard from the receptionist that Megan had filed for an extension for my return for May 1st, 2017.

What!

I owe taxes and now will pay IRS penalties!!

I wasn't given an advance call with an estimate of what I owed to avoid penalties.

Later, I received a call around 3:30pm stating the reason was there was more information Megan needed. NOT BUYING IT!! She had more than enough time to ask me before 4/18.

What I learned from the Receptionist on one of my calls was that the office was in crisis, a tax preparer had quit and left 250 clients/work for the others to handle.

In my opinion there were many other ways Megan and her company could have handled this crisis event instead of this way.

I entered into agreement with Megan with Trust and confidence. What I am left with is the opposite, broken trust, integrity and anger. I am very disappointed and left with a tax mess I didn't create.

And...I need to get these taxes done! So, since they are almost done, I am having Megan and Her company complete them.

Unless my trust and confidence can be restored, I am no longer bringing my business or referring anyone to this firm.
