I would like to share my personal experience with Lemonade Insurance Company, which has had both positive and negative aspects.

Firstly, I must commend their customer service. I have always found their representatives to be polite and responsive, promptly addressing my inquiries through email. Additionally, their pricing is exceptional; Lemonade offers some of the best rates in the market, which is a significant advantage.

However, my experience took a turn when my policy was canceled after three missed payments. I reached out to inquire about the possibility of catching up on my payments and even proposed to pay three months in advance, given their affordable rates. Unfortunately, they were unable to accommodate my request. While I understand their policy, I do acknowledge that the missed payments were my responsibility, mainly due to losing my bank card and forgetting to update them with my new information.

Since I have never filed a claim, I cannot comment on that aspect of their service. Overall, my experience with Lemonade has been mixed, leading me to settle on a three-star rating based on my interactions with customer service and their competitive pricing. Keep in mind I have never filed a claim

O would not recommend them to anybody. I had a previous policy with them and the car was totaled. They claim they couldn’t help me with my deductible back in 2023. Now I have a new vehicle and wanted to retry them, they quoted me for a new policy put it on review, emailed me about making a payment so it could be active only for they payment to go towards my old policy. Not in one email did they state I had to pay my old policy in order to activate my new one. I will not be using them ever again.

After receiving multiple assurances from the customer service department that my auto insurance inspection report from when I was a Metromile customer would carry over to my Lemonade policy, I received notice that my car's collision and comprehensive insurance had been dropped.

Customer service assured me that this would not happen, and it would not be necessary for me to have my car reinspected... I have it in writing via email from them.

It is absolutely unacceptable that this has happened to me. An insurance company that relies so heavily on technology to administer and service insurance policies should be able to update records so that this kind of thing doesn't happen to anyone.

Switched to Progressive... slightly higher premium, but at least I have peace of mind knowing they can handle a claim should I have to make one.

Avoid this company – terrible support and shady refund policies!

You cannot remove your credit card information from your account. Even after paying in full for a yearly plan with no ongoing charges, the system won’t let you delete your card. I spent two weeks going back and forth with completely unhelpful support, and they offered no solution.
Refund calculations are a mystery. If you pay for a full year and use the insurance for just one month before canceling, there’s no clear information on how much you’ll be refunded. You only find out after submitting the request—no transparency whatsoever.
This company looks good on the surface—the website is user-friendly, and everything seems convenient. But when you actually need support, they are nowhere to be found. Total scammers. Stay away!

I’ve been a customer of Lemonade Pet Insurance for roughly 2 years and at first, they did a great job responding to my claims. I had recently sent in another claim and have been trying for over 3 months now to get an answer, and unfortunately, my experience has been extremely frustrating. Despite reaching out multiple times and following up consistently, I’ve yet to get anywhere with my claims or even a clear response. The customer service has been unhelpful (they told me to send the claim to another email address, and I did, but with ended up with the same results....nothing!), and the communication has been almost nonexistent.

It's incredibly disappointing to experience this level of service when it comes to something as important as pet insurance. I expected better responsiveness and transparency, but instead, I’m left feeling ignored and dissatisfied.

Pros: Lemonade pet insurance is definitely one of the more affordable options available. Additionally, when submitting claims, as long as all the necessary paperwork is provided and the emergency services rendered are clearly indicated, the claim refund is processed quickly.

Cons: Unfortunately, customers are forced to interact with their bot, Maya, for all issues, many of which would benefit from speaking with a live representative. It was quite challenging to reach an actual employee; it took me three attempts with Maya just to make contact. After my recent divorce, I wanted to transfer one dog's insurance to my name while keeping the quote I had received. The employee I spoke with stated this was not possible, even though the quote was issued just one day prior. My ex-partner also tried to assist with the transfer from her end, but Lemonade refused to help. When I requested to speak to a manager, I was informed it would take 1-2 business days for a response. It has now been over four days with no follow-up. Consequently, I am leaving them a one-star rating and moving on to another company. It’s disappointing because I would have gladly continued my pet and renters insurance with them. However, due to their unwillingness to assist in retaining my membership (I’ve been paying for pet insurance since March 2022), they are now losing my business for both.

I wish I would of read the reviews before getting them for my pet insurance. I recently filed a claim and have not heard back so I have a feeling ill be denied. I'm definitely switching companies if I get denied because I'm not going to pay pet insurance for nothing. I usually check reviews first but I trusted word of mouth and starting to regret it. I notice if a claim takes longer than a few days it's usually denied and I've heard some horror stories recently. I wish I would of went thru someone else now. I'm just waiting to hear back to decide what to do. And if they don't let me cancel I'll just cancel my accounts and open new ones I'm not playing that game. I'll give it another week and if I don't hear anything then I'm definitely going to assume I'm denied and cancel. I already found someone else who said they would of paid me the same day but lesson learned.

This is the worst insurance company I have ever experienced. I only used them because I need to obtain insurance quickly for my closing. This was the biggest mistake I have ever made. I ended up having a water leak and I went to file a claim with this insurance, and it was impossible to get a hold of anyone. Do not make this mistake and use this company. There is a reason why they have terrible reviews and no social media presence. It is because they are awful. DO NOT USE THEM AT ANY COST!
