This review is long overdue but that I feel compelled to write it 2 years after Miller& Son handled my mother's fire claim is a testament to the excellent service I received. Jeff Schwartz was was thorough and meticulous in handling my mother's insurance matter after her house burned down. It was a catastrophic loss on many levels. My mother fell ill during claim and Jeff went to meet her in the hospital to reassure her that he would handle everything. When my mother died, Jeff was a calming and supportive human being. In the end, I was very happy with the financial results Jeff and Miller & Son achieved. Their fees are reasonable and well worth it.

In July 2020 we had a fire that burned our pool cabana, the portion of the pool that was not under water and part of our yard. Much to our surprise, the next morning several people stopped by, told us they were public adjusters and dropped off business cards. One person dropped off a brochure explaining the process - Jeff Schwartz. For this reason, we called him and set up an appointment for the following morning. We had no clue about making a claim and he spent hours going over our situation. Jeff took over dealing with our insurance company and made the process easy. We were reimbursed for significantly more than if we had filed the claim ourselves, as there were many things we would have overlooked.
When hurricane Ida struck in 2021, we again had to reach out for Jeff. Our basement and wine cellar had about a foot of water. Once again, Jeff dealt with the insurance company and made sure we were completely reimbursed for our losses. Because of his knowledge and experience, in both instances, Jeff pointed out issues we would have overlooked. Jeff is personable and easy to work with. Based on his performance, we have recommended him to friends and family.

M. Miller & Son handled our house fire which happened a few months before Covid. Even though we have what's considered a great insurance company, Miller & Sons expert staff and main contact point (Jeff) was a HUGE help dealing with all of the details and negotiations.

Our fire happened a few days before Thanksgiving and thankfully we all made it out safely. The fire dept. told us that we had a good insurance company and we wouldn't need a public adjuster. We went with that advice for the first 5 weeks because we trusted the insurance representative.

After a few weeks of working with the insurance, we realized that they were looking out for themselves. After they had their restoration company start to demo the interior (trying to remove all proof of the quality of our home build), cleaned clothing that had been through smoke damage which should never have been sent out for cleaning (cant get the smell of burned plastics out of clothes), the final straw that convinced us to use a public adjuster like Miller & Son was when the insurance company missed more than 75% of the items that were damaged. My wife's tools, electronics, and lots of things that had been left in the house were not counted or submitted for reimbursement by the insurance companies people.

We met with Jeff from Miller & Son and after spending a few hours discussing our situation and doing a lot of google searches for reviews, realized they were the right ones to help us handle our case.

We hired them 5 weeks after the fire, and they were able to completely take over the process with the Insurance company. They brought in their own people, found over 3000 items that were "missed" and helped put in the right paperwork to properly get compensated for the house build quality we had before the fire (ex: we had plaster walls vs. drywall, clay tile roof instead of shingle, etc).

Because this was happening during Covid, build time was longer and material costs were more, but Jeff continued to work with us over the 2 years it took to finally get things completed and get back into our home.

If we ever have another issue (g-d forbid), we wouldn't wait 5 weeks and would hire Miller & Son immediately.

I highly recommend this company and encourage you to serious consider moving forward with a Public Adjuster immediately. It saved us a lot of headache and ultimately got us a much better settlement.

No one should ever have to go through the experience of losing a home in any capacity. September 2, 2021 will be a painful date engrained in memory for me and my family. My wife, 4 month old daughter and I lost our home in Hurricane Ida. Our home flooded and exploded and was a complete total loss. I remember standing on what once was the footsteps of our home to our front door trying to figure out what were the next steps. I had no idea where to start. Where does one start in a situation like this? As I was walking around the house on the driveway, a man approached me, Jeff Schwartz. I cannot describe how compassionate, understanding, and patient this man was. He informed me of all the options I had under my belt in a way that someone could understand going through grief. With his kind demeanor coupled with his astound knowledge and experience of public adjustment, I knew without a doubt my family and I would need him on our team. This is a decision I do not regret in the slightest. Jeff fought for us all along the way. He guided us under his wing, helped us get in contact with temporary rental assistance, temporary furniture rental and most importantly supported us vehemently with our insurance company. A home is not just a house, it is part of your life. It is the memories that you make, the people you welcome and the bonds of family and friends that you build that grow stronger with each and every day. However, life happens and in the event that something so heinous occurs, I recommend Jeff and M. Miller & Son without any reservation. They are a phenomenal team and will help you at every step along the way. This is a company that truly cares and will be with you when you need it the most. M. Miller & Sons assisted me with a total loss during the hurricane on August 4, 2020 where a very large tree fell onto one of my rental properties and the house needed to be razed. At first, I was very hesitant to hire such a company but after much research, I decided to hire M. Miller & Sons and I could not be happier. The outcome was very positive and Jeff Schwartz was very professional, helpful and made himself available to answer my numerous calls/questions in a very timely manner. Jeff also explained the entire process to me from the start and the entire process went very smooth. in March 2018 a very large oak tree fell on our house in a rainstorm, damaging the roof & rafters, destroying the chimney and breaching the back wall of the house. The contractor we called suggested we contact a public insurance adjuster to help us with the claim. We were fortunate to find M. Miller & Son.
Michael Miller came to see us the day after we called him. He listened carefully to our concerns and gave us good advice about our initial contacts with the insurance company. Once the process of filing the claim began, he and his team took care of everything. Every person we had contact with at Miller & Son was extremely professional, knowledgeable and courteous. They made the whole experience easier to bear by taking some of the burden off our shoulders.

After experiencing a fire that destroyed by entire second floor of my home I was bombarded by companies offering to help. With some careful consideration I was referred to M.Miller & Sons.
