Bad Faith Insurance policy by Paul Larson: Allstate Insurance Agency

Paul Larson Insurance is guilty of negligence and misrepresentation and does not care about their clients. Colorado DORA is investigating him and if you want a company that is honest Paul Larson is the wrong place. When my elderly mother wanted to get better pricing for property insurance we went to Paul and signed up multiple properties. My sister helped with the paperwork and was asked a few questions about the properties and then the policies were written. In 2023 my mother had “Wind and Hail Damage” and her insurance policy HAD “Wind and Hail Damage” coverage. We thought the roof damage would be covered, and since she lives in an attached property and is part of an HOA they paid for the roof repairs for the community and then my mom was given a special assessment of $14,416 and we thought no problem, we are in good hands with All State. When we called into Paul Larson to tell them the situation, Amber the office manager said they would not cover it and tried to get me to not submit a claim because she said “It would be a waste of time and your premiums will just go up”. Then Amber submitted the claim without our input which was quickly denied because we didn’t have did not have special assessment coverage for the “Wind and Hail Damage” We found out that we did not have the proper policy, instead of having an HO6 policy for attached property she had a more expensive single family policy. The house is clearly attached to another home. As a licensed insurance agent, we relied on the professionalism of All State and Paul Larson to offer a policy based on the correct property type. We filed an appeal with All State and explained that due to agent negligence we did not have the correct policy, but Paul Larson told All State he knows his agent properly reviewed each property because ONE policy was for a condo—my daughter and I know this is false—they never asked those questions.
They need to step up and cover this claim. This happened because of THEIR mistakes. We TRUSTED Paul Larson and that was our mistake

Good day Paul Larson team! I am impressed from the first time I contacted your agency. I had been searching for home owners insurance for literally months because of renewal prices going through the roof. It's hard to budget the kind of money you need for insurance nowadays.

I called friends and called their agents and wasn't pleased with their responses or lack of concern for my urgency. I am easy to get along with so I can tell when there's a lack of interest from someone.

Not so when I responded to Amber's flyer. I called and although you have to press a button here or there, the response time was seconds and from then on I was listened to, I heard Paul's genuine concern for my frustration finding affordable insurance, and after he worked on my specific insurance quote, I got a rate within my budget. He allowed me time to go over my dec page and suggest revisions price wise, but it was right on the money. This Allstate policy will even give me more play money then I could possibly spend if something were to happen (😜).

When calling my agent Alex Chavez, at the Paul Larson agency, I don't appreciate being asked WHY I want to talk with Alex. It sounds to me like they don't think Alex is capable of answering his own phone calls.If it is something that can better be answered by someone else in the agency let Alex tell me. I want to build a relationship with Alex so I can feel better about giving Alex a lead, or ask about my coverage etc. It just sounds like poor manners when someone says "why do you want to talk to Alex".

After a year of being gone I am back to Allstate and very happy with my decision. Jay is very thorough and is always great when I need to make adjustments to my policy! I received by mail that I could save money on my Homeowners and Auto Insurance with a quote from Allstate. I figured it was just junk mail but I held on to it for (2) two weeks before I finally called. I spoke with Jay who was courteous and professional and in a short amount of time, I was all setup and saving money on both and actually getting better coverage than I had before.
