This used to be the best insurance company – I would rave to people how easy it was to get in touch with customer service, and how helpful the representatives were. Now, you wait on hold for HOURS just for the representative to not have access to the information that you need. Long wait times for prior authorizations to get approved, and just overall poor customer service. After being a happy member for 4 years, I will be switching to a new insurance company come open enrollment time in the fall.

absolute worst health insurance company I've ever worked with. Would not process my bill for MONTHS (accident in June, still not resolved in November). Then wouldn't talk to me over the phone because I moved and no longer had the insurance but the claim still existed. Good luck getting anyone on the phone too - have to press about 40 buttons to reach a representative. Absolute bullshit company - do not use. Coverage sucked too.

I have been with this insurance for years. They have been wonderful, until they made changes this year. It has been the worst experience and I will be changing insurances because of it. They terminated my policy without notice, told me I had to update my address even though I was getting correspondence mailed to my home. It took forever to get the issues resolved, and a month later they are back to denying claims saying I’m inactive, even tho I’m not. Do not go with this company.

This used to be the easiest insurance to work with. They answered the phone promptly and were eager to be as helpful as possible. But, since moving to a new platform away from U of U Health plans it has been nothing short of awful!
You sit on hold for over an hour or more to be told that they cannot give out certain information because they are still transitioning. That process started 9/1 and they are still having issues more than a month and half later
The patient portal is just as awful. We are supposed to be able to see accumulations and start pre-authorizations. It is not working! Even telling customer service this information gets you nowhere. I understand transitioning can be stressful and is a lot of work but I don't believe this was a good time to do so or very thought through. I would recommend anyone with this insurance to look for a better option come open enrollment time

This company revamped their website during my policy period, and without notifying me, they cancelled everyone's recurring payments. As a result, I had past-due bills that I was unaware of, with no phone or email notification. When I tried to pay my bills online and by the phone, both portals were broken and I was asked for "patience as they make the transition to a new platform." It took more than a week to resolve this issue. I am dumbfounded that a health insurance organization could cancel someone's recurring payments without notifying them, break their own system's payment acceptance options, and then have the audacity to send a "past due" LETTER as if everything was business as usual. I will never use Mountain Health Coop ever again; I would not trust them to responsibly manage their digital presence, even in 2024.

My girlfriend had a policy with this company, we had to leave Wyoming to come to Arizona to take care of my mom. 5 months later still waiting for a refund for a policy we paid in full in December last year. She has called 5 times and they say they have sent her a refund but nothing ever comes.

This company used to have great customer service when it was Montana Health Cooperative. When they switched to Mountain Health Co-op, customer service declined. When they went through conversion in 2024, customer service became the worst service imaginable.

If a member, or provider, needs to speak with a co-op representative they will be put on hold for over an hour every time.

I have been trying unsuccessfully to be reimbursed for a premium I pre-paid. I had to switch insurance when I moved because MHCOOP did not have coverage in my state. I have called repeatedly as well as emailed the company. Since they did their changes over the past few months, everything has gone downhill. Still no check received even after being told they are sending it three different times. I waited the 10 working days each time before calling again. All my information is correct including my new address. I am over it and their “new” customer service and “new” changes.
