Lost power had to wait over a week for someone to contact me. Adjusted came out took pictures and I forward all necessary documents. We paid out of pocket to get the power back on. Two months later not one time I was provided with any update. A month later after I sent my last email, called to get an update. Received voicemail mail after receiving a detailed message. 20 minutes later received a text

When I call the claim representative was told you need to contact the adjuster.

I don’t understand if my adjuster was changed why wasn’t I notified by phone or email.

If I could give -20 for a review, I have been in customer service over 20 year this is worse I ever experienced

Poor insurance and poor service! I have a homeowners policy with the company, but I will soon be transferring to another company. During Hurricane Ida, my house experienced damage to the main water line. The water line connecting the house to the street had to be replaced costing almost $7000. First, just filing the complaint was difficult. The website has an online tool that is difficult to access and frankly looked like a 10-year old designed it. In any case, I couldn't get access to it so I had to wait until the office was open to file my complaint by phone. Because the house didn't have any water, I had to move forward with the repairs out of pocket, as it took several days before anyone ever got back to me about the claim. Similarly, I had to contact them several times, just to get a copy of my policy. It was weeks before I was contacted by an adjuster asking about the claim and expenses. Close to two months after the claim was filed I received a denial letter saying that the damage was most likely the result of "deterioration." I have a more well-known company for my other property and have had to file storm-related claims with them. I found the process to be so much easier, straightforward, and equitable. My advice, avoid this insurance company at all costs.

Horrible company, they NEVER answer the phone nor respond to emails, I'm not even sure anyone works there, like at all. Might as well just close down if you can't afford to pay someone to work the customer service lines, specially with that joke of a website that works only 1 time out of 90. Need an advanced course in patience and anger management? Like to pull your hair by the root just for the hell of it?, get a policy with this people, you will see what I mean.

I pay enough yearly and now am wondering if it would cover anything if I were to need it. The website doesn't exist. Calling them is an automated system. When I put my information in, it can't understand it. I've tried multiple times. I put my account number in multiple times and it reads it back to me completely incorrect each time. This company is worthless and feels like a complete sham!

Quoted $700 a year by CI Insurance, inspector Pos Victor Anderson comes out after his inspection which he did not take photos of the listed items below it’s $1800! Without liability

I have had a policy with this company for several years. Of course everything was fine until I had to file a claim. I submitted complete documentation of the repairs (including cancelled checks) had the adjuster visit twice. I had to pay out of pocket. Finally, NY Underwriters say they sent a check. Two weeks later no check (they said "we did our part, blame the post office") . Finally they agreed to put a stop payment on the first check and overnight a replacement check. This was on Wednesday 12/30/14. It is now Saturday the 2nd. No check (these people make the expression "check is in the mail" really come to life)

If I ever get paid for my claim, I will be happy to change this review. Right now I don't even know if they are legit

For the third year in a row, we have been inspected, renewed, paid in full, then cancelled within a week of renewal. We appeal, they inspect again, then they reinstate. Fairplan is supposed to be the safety net for people who cannot get insurance elsewhere. NYPIUA treats those of us who require them with the utmost disrespect. The new head of Underwriting has no idea what the mission of the organization is. He told us he would cancel our insurance for refusing an inspection when we informed him that his inspector had failed to make an appearance. The NYS Dept of Finance that is supposed to oversee them turns a blind eye to their incompetence and malfeasance.

My experience in the past was a pleasant one but oh boy I don't know what has gone wrong since I couldn't be able to locate where they were much less not able to reach them through email or phone calls.
