I'm a certified mortgage planner in Arizona and Matt reached out to me a few months ago after apparently interviewing multiple mortgage people throughout the valley to see who would be best for his clients.

Matt chose me because he wanted to make sure his clients paid lenders the absolute minimum possible for the shortest amount of time possible. To ensure that, he needed to find someone whose rates and fees were measurably lower than the rest, which makes total sense.

While I do retain the business of many financial planners, and their clients, Matt is the only one I know who keeps very close tabs on what his clients pay to their lenders for properties they have mortgages on.

Many of Matt's clients were already in great positions, but one of them who just bought a house a year ago, was paying PMI, and had a rate of 3.625% on a 30 year fixed. Matt seemed to think there was a shot at getting the PMI cancelled that early on, and he was right, and removing the PMI was something I was able to accomplish. Together we were able to remove his client's PMI of $236 a month and reduce their rate down to 3.125% on a 22 year fixed. Those course corrections led to a reduction of $73,392 off their loan.

What I find interesting about that is that it shows that Matt cares about even the most minute details of his clients assets classes to the point where he is ensuring they are winning on multiple levels the most that they can, so to speak.

Quite honestly, he is the only financial planner I know that does that.

What it tells me is that because he is THAT thorough for his clients on things that he's not directly involved in, like their mortgage, (their largest and longest debt), he is probably also 10 times more focused on the things he can control for his clients and their money under his management.
