As a public adjuster, I had high hopes when I engaged Pinnacle Claims to help me navigate the complex world of Florida homeowners insurance claims. However, I quickly realized that the laws had changed, leaving public adjusters with no real recourse against the insurance companies.

I wish I had known sooner that going straight to an attorney would have saved me a significant fee. In the end, I had to pay both Pinnacle Claims and an attorney to get any resolutions on my claim. This double cost was a huge burden that could have been avoided with better information and guidance.

Overall, my experience with Pinnacle Claims was extremely disappointing and costly. I would caution others to be aware of the changing legal landscape and consider their options carefully before engaging a public adjuster in Florida.

I’m happy to engage in this discussion, as this is certainly more communication than I received when I was emailing you. There are a few points I would like to clarify.

The work you did on my claim involved creating an estimate in Xactimate, which my attorney had to spend two days (12 hours) defending.

There is no question that insurance companies are unscrupulous, and the new law has allowed them to become even worse. My point for those considering a public adjuster is that they seem to have lost their power, as insurance companies often ignore them. This situation necessitates the involvement of an attorney, which means you end up paying two fees instead of one. What’s even more infuriating is that you charged a higher percentage than my attorney (pre-suit), even though he was the one who accomplished the work. Had I hired an attorney from the beginning, he could have brought in a contractor to create an estimate in Xactimate, and I would have given up only 10% of awarded fees, instead of 25%.

Lastly, I did inform you that I would publish this review if you did not reduce my fee from the contractually obligated 15% to 10%, not sure where you come up with asking for a reduction by half. I believe you should still be compensated for your work, as we had an agreement and you produced a decent estimate. However, I do not feel that this entitles you to 15% of the awarded amount when the attorney, who only charged 10%, put in all the hours of work.
