I had a great experience working with Barbara Cook. I switched my auto insurance to State Farm. She assisted me with my auto and renter's insurance, as well as adding road side assistance to my policy. She is very knowledgeable, friendly and above all she made sure my insurance needs were met. She is an outstanding person. Thank you for your help, Barbara!

Barbara has been such a saving grace working through our coverage and helping keep us on track. We’re so grateful to have real people who get it and will do what it takes to work with their customers. No system is perfect but they certainly go above and beyond to help communicate and work with you when life gets hard.

I have had confusion with State Farm’s billing system from time to time but each time I call or email Barbara, she is excellent at helping me understand and clear up confusion. She is knowledgeable and caring and I never get the feeling of being rushed. We have had lots of changes to our policy and she has always been responsive and helps me get my stuff taken care of. It’s nice to have someone you can rely on and trust in the insurance field.

Update: I called corporate and have reported Barbra and her behavior towards me and after some research employees working here have quit because of Barbra’s rude behavior.

Not happy with how my service went today.

I spoke with Barbra today who did not give me good customer services. I’ve called twice already about getting a change to my policy over the past few weeks. I called today to get it started. There was a miscommunication with down payment which I tired to advise her of the miscommunication and was trying to tell her I would need to call back today to finish payment. Barbra began to say I could call back on the 13 on my due date to do payment. I don’t know why she kept talking over me and then began to become condescending when I was trying to explain I would call back today and she said fine. “You’ll call back today.” And was very rude about it. I did try to advise her she is being rude but she wouldn’t take the feedback. She then stated she is
the office manager and there was no one else to talk to. I’m not sure why she felt to speak to me like this when I was just trying to communicate I would call back today. I’m posting this review due to there not being anyone one else to speak to about my concerns. But this is NOT how you speak to your customers and doesn’t really make me feel comfortable calling this party directly to get my car insurance needs done.

I signed up for State Farm auto insurance online in August 2022. In July 2023, I filed a hail claim online and that took about two weeks. November 2023 I now needed homeowners insurance. Up until this point everything I have ever done with State Farm had been online. I didn’t even know I had an insurance agent because I signed up online but I had gotten random emails from this office so I called assuming it was my agent.

Barbra answered the phone and was very pleasant while signing me up for home owners insurance. After I am signed up she tells me that my auto policy is with a different agent and asks if I’d like to move it to the same agent and I said yes. Might as well just have it with one person, doesn’t sound like a big deal.

I have had more problems with my auto insurance policy since moving it than I have ever had with having any auto insurance. Apparently when you change your autopay it doesn’t update for over a month so the old payment was charged and declined (June 2024). That’s my bad I should have noticed. Barbra calls me in the middle of August when it’s time to renew my policy that I actually had no insurance for 2 months. This was at 4:50pm on a Friday so now I have to wait all weekend to get ahold of someone to find out why I didn’t have insurance and potentially renew. During this renewal process Barbra lied and told me she called me numerous times when my payment failed and I never answered/called back. The payment failing and me not noticing my insurance wasn’t paid is on me. There was really just no reason to lie and say you called when I am taking responsibility for something that was my fault.

Should have moved my policies that day but I didn’t have time so I renewed my policy. Thinking everything will be fine moving forward. Autopay is updated so there shouldn’t be any more issues. Unfortunately, there were more issues. I get a statement to my email in October 2024 for about $850 so I call them up and ask why my bill is so high. This was about 4.5x the amount of my monthly payment. I guess it was for September and October. Why so much? Turns out Someone (Barbra) messed up and I actually had two auto policies. During this time I discover that I had paid twice in August while renewing my insurance and Barbra said that State Farm owed me a credit. So I paid for what I assumed was October but then was told I still owe for October and that State Farm would be crediting October. The last message that I sent to Barbra that day was “I thought that is what I paid today. For October.” Assuming that Barbra was still getting clarification around what was going on I completely forgot about it until Friday, December 13th when I get a message that I didn’t pay my November insurance because once again my autopay isn’t working. I have made 5 payments on this policy (2 in August, 2 in October, 1 in December that is actually novembers and Decembers will be paid on the 22nd when it’s due). I understand autopay not working and being behind a month but I will have made 6 payments in 4 months.

Barbra, you lack follow through and take no responsibility for it. You blame corporate for everything that has gone wrong since I moved policies here, failing to recall that I had insurance for the same corporate with zero issues for over a year. My payment failing in June, my fault. 6 payments over 4 months, why am I even being charged when I have clearly overpaid? I thought you figured all this out with billing in October? If this was something that I needed to do, all you needed to do was say so. But you said you would figure out what was going on and get back to me.

I asked Barbara to change our additional insured information on our rental policy on August 9th it was still not changed a week later. Asked her to change it again on the telephone and was sent several incorrect documents. When I asked to speak with Sean, she refused and she told me she was his office manager and everything goes through her. Also tried calling the corporate number and it goes back to their office so you have no choice but to speak to Barbara. The only way I could get my insurance policy changed correctly was to call another agent and sign up with them. I don't think that this is the first time Barbara has done this to customers. She hasn't gotten caught because people can't reach Sean to make complaints about her. Don't be a customer here unless you want terrible service.
