I like that TDIC is dentist-owned, so there is no ulterior motive for profit but rather to do what is best for policyholders. Service is great with fairly priced premiums. I am proud to support a company that supports dentists and is not purely driven by profit for shareholders.

I am 43 years in prctice and I have been enrolled with TDIC since its inception. I have been totally satisfied and recommended TDIC to other dentists until recently. I am in a Workman's Comp dispute currently, and I am angered to the point I am considering dropping all policies.
The dispute is about how my associate was denied his status as an independent contractor.
I am currently in transition of selling my practice to my associate. He is his own corporation. He is now redirecting, managing, and hiring for remaking the practice. He does not have ownership on paper yet, but in essence he has become the owner until loans are obtained and our sale contract is finalized.
Multiple letters and communication back and forth were exchanged regarding your identification of my associate's income as a regular employee salary. I strongly disagree and object to this determination, and feel I am being excessively and wrongfully charged. I want this reversed, and to be refunded the amounts I have been overcharged.
In the near future, the sale will be finalized and I will become an independent contractor to the practice, working my own timetables, on patients that wish to remain under my care. I will not be his employee, my income should in no way be included into his Workmans comp audit. I need to find out how to ensure this will be so, if I am going to stay with TDIC I need to speak with someone who can understand this situation and give objective advice.

I was recently denied coverage for business practices insurance. The reason given was excessive turnover. I filed an appeal with a detailed explanation of why my turnover was high (including one pregnancy leave, one new employee who failed to show up to work after one week, relocation of staff member to another town and a third leaving to attend dental school. After more than 30 years working with TDIC and no claims, I felt the courtesy of a thoughtful reply was warranted. Instead, I received "Appeal denied". I feel this lack of customer service and engagement is both unprofessional and unacceptable. I'm no longer a happy customer.

TDIC is not a good company to work with because they do not care about your time and problem! I have asked for Certificate of Insurance for few months! They send uncomplete ones and every time I call them, I get someone new, and I have to explain everything over again with no luck of getting what I ask for!!!

I really get the sense that they are working for me and other dentists. I feel I have an advocate on my side. I had an experience early on in my career where I had to submit a claim for repairs from water damage and they went above and beyond to make the process smooth for me

I took the RM course earlier this year. I discovered that there was an error, and my discount was not going to be applied. I contacted TDIC, showed them my CE certificate. The rep said that she was going to notify the billing dept. and confirm with me that a discount would be applied. I have not heard back nor have I heard back when I sent a follow up email.

I have been a great client of TDIC since I became a dentist in 1997. They dropped me out of the blue and their agent said they've just been dropping people with no cause. Once you're dropped it's harder and way more expensive to get insurance. So they really hurt me there. They also submitted a claim when I just called about advice so I have 3 claims on my insurance where the patient was never involved I just wanted advice. Also making it more difficult to get different insurance. I would stay away as they are dropping long time clients and leaving us in a tough situation.
