Brenda McFarlane does not deserve any stars. She sounded like a good person that I could trust at the beginning. I did not meet her personally, but I trusted her with my claim for the freeze in February 2021. Everything became terrible when she highly recommended me to use her PREFERRED contractor, Aqua Property Development, in Houston, Texas, listed on her website. She assured me this company would repair my house, with full payment from my insurance company. My minor disaster turned into a mayor disaster with this contractor. Now the contractor wants me to pay them $90,000, or they will put a lien on my house. The company did very poor quality work, delayed the work, and provided services that were not requested nor approved, incurring additional costs. Now I’m working with a new contractor to repair this work, while paying out of pocket for additional living expenses. Brenda had the audacity to call me recently to tell me that I needed to make payment arrangements with the contractor or else they will put a lien on my home, because that is what typical CONTRACTORS do. When I asked her why this company damaged my home, her response was, well that’s typical of contractors, they like to play games; sometimes they win, sometimes they lose. I did not appreciate this response and I am not expecting games for a serious situation. I hired her to help me, not the contractor. I definitely do not recommend Brenda McFarlane. Hopefully this will save people from going through a difficult and disturbing ordeal that I had to experience.
