After nearly 7 years being a customer, mind you that is almost 7 years with NO claims I get a cancellation notice, owning a small business you get tons of mail and the notice went unopened, 30 days or so later I still get an invoice, I send payment as always, days pass and the state contacts me and tells me that my workers comp lapsed I say surely that’s not so, contact my agent and Sheffield and find out that yes in fact my check for the previous month was late and they cancelled my insurance. No problem right just reinstate my policy? Nope! They ask for 6 months upfront and the same monthly payment as before! That’s roughly 1200.00 to start and 200 per month! Never will I ever have anything good to say about this company! Can’t get in touch with anyone when you have questions, yearly audits that are time consuming and nothing more than a way for them to consume even more of our hard earned money. I secured workers comp with another agency, noting down, no audits, flat rate with no surprises and CHEAPER! Now I’m being sued by the state for failing to have coverage for 30 days!!! I’m sure that will be a mess to sort out! Thanks for absolutely noting Sheffield!

Number Six

Privacy is not a concern for this company! I was sent an audit request in 2022. When I hand delivered the requested documents, I was instructed to leave them at a small table at the front door. Included with the audit form were my personal taxes. My taxes had my family of five's social security numbers, my bank information & home address. I was uneasy about leaving that type of information out like that, but that was the system they had in place. Almost one year later after no communication from Sheffield, I received a collection notice for my account. I called them and was told that they did not receive my audit or the supporting documents. No one in their office can tell me where my personal information ended up. Instead I was told in a polite way that I am a liar, that there is no way that I could have dropped it off or they would have them. After no solution but to pay the collection agency and no answer as to where my documents are I am beyond upset!
