I bought a second home in September. and settled on Allstate for homeowners insurance. Everything was fine until I received a letter in February from my mortgage provider. The letter stated my homeowners policy was canceled in December.

The owner of the agency who I worked with dropped the ball. He incorrectly entered my address in their database, so I never received any communications from Allstate.

An inspection took place in October, but I had not moved into the new home yet. The report required me to clean up an area on the property. Unfortunately, you can’t clean up or cure an issue if you don’t know there is an issue.

To date, I’ve never received any mail from Allstate; I never received a phone call; I never received an email; I never received a text. They told me a refund check was mailed to me in October?

The inspection happened in October. They canceled my policy on December 28th, so how could a refund check be mailed in October? Just more incompetence and excuses!

In a nutshell, I have never received a premium refund check. You would think that when a check never gets deposited, people at this agency, and Allstate would be alerted that something is wrong.

While I had no idea these issues were in flight, my mortgage provider forced an expensive policy on me. When I dug in to find out what went wrong, I was hit with an ocean of excuses by Tyler Harrington and his staff.

He never took responsibility for the screw up, and even made a comment through email that “I should have paid attention” during the inspection process. Wow!!

The only person who didn’t pay attention was Tyler Harrington!! He certainly can’t spell customer service.
