I don’t leave many reviews but after working with United Public Adjusters & Appraisers, Inc i have no choice. In a time when everything is turned upside down do to a house fire they are professional, polite, and understanding company I have ever worked with. Every time you call a person answers the phone you never have to leave a message. If you ask a question and they don’t have the answer they will tell you they’ll call you back….. and they always do. Most importantly is they fight for everything you deserve making your life much easier at a time when you need it to be easier.

I cannot recommend this firm and Michael Maltaghati more. My home in Mount Sinai suffered a significant water damage loss and Michael and his team worked tirelessly in representing me. They had excellent communication skills, responding very quickly to my frequent inquiries. They know the industry very well and will fiercely negotiate on your behalf to get what you are entitled to. I now understand how important it is to work with someone who is knowledgeable in this area because the average person or contractor could easily miss so many details Michael and his team caught. I don’t know how I would have gotten through this nightmare without them! AMAZING job!

We had a lightning strike and as a result had fire damage and extensive smoke damage to our newly renovated home in Stony Brook, N.Y. We were devastated and unsure how to proceed. The day after the fire, friends of our who were vacationing in Greece and had somehow heard about the fire, called us at 8 am to say we needed to hire a public adjuster. They explained that when their home was extensively damaged by hurricane Sandy, they had hired Michael Maltaghati of United public adjusters. We hung up the phone and immediately called Michael. Two hours later, I sat down outside our house with Michael who went through my insurance policy with me and explained the different parts of our policy and explained the dollar amounts on each section. He asked me what insurance company we used and then outlined who the key players involved in the decision making process would be, and how the process would work. He not only gave us a crash course in understanding our insurance policy but he accurately predicted how the insurance company’s reps would smoothly work with the reps he brought in on our behalf. Because our house was a total gut and then the pandemic struck, the whole insurance process and rebuild took 18 months. We had many questions and concerns for Michael throughout that time and he always got back to us immediately, answered all our questions, advocated continuously and fiercely with the insurance company on our behalf, and not once disappointed us. His knowledge and experience are unmatched, and, he made a difficult and painful experience as smooth and easy as one could hope for. I have recommended him without hesitation to friends, family members, and neighbors. When people ask them about the fire, my first response is that the best and smartest thing we ever did, was hire Michael Maltaghati. To give one small example of the value Michael provided, when the insurance company made their initial offer on repairs to our house, Michael asked to walk through the house with me and go room by room with the 40 page, fine print offer sheet. On our walk through, he found $30,000 worth of damage that the insurance company had left out which he then presented to the insurance company. A few weeks later we received a check which more than covered all of UPA fees for the entire project. Hiring Michael will be one of the smartest things you ever did.

During one of the most traumatic and emotional times in our lives, Michael Maltaghati and his team were there for us. Our Massapequa Park home suffered significant fire and smoke damage making it non-livable. Unfortunately, our rental property in Westbury was damaged by fire and the team at the firm were so considerate and patient with helping us get everything that we needed to get our property back to its original status. I would recommend this company to anyone who needs to put in an home owners claim. We had a house fire July 2018. The whole house had to be rebuild except the frame. It was an extremely traumatic experience, however having United Public adjusters on our side made it so much easier. We put everything to do with the insurance company in their hands. They were outstanding. They handled everything from helping us to housing, restoration, but most importantly reassuring us that we will get everything to get back into our home. Fast forward 7 months I'm sitting back in my home after the whole house was redone and I never had to deal with the insurance company. They were able to get me everything I needed from my claim, from the rebuild and my contents.
Michael and James were extremely professional. They also were beyond patient and informative with me, because I had millions of questions and concerns along the way especially at the beginning of the process.
I would DEFINITELY call on them again if need be. Whenever I talk about my house fire, one of the first things I do is praise UNITED PUBLIC ADJUSTERS. they are the best.

A house fire is a shocking and terrible thing to happen to anyone. I am so thankful that Michael Maltaghati of United Public Adjusters & Appraisers was able to help us. The fire occurred in the early afternoon and Mike stayed with us into the late evening to help answer our questions and explain the process ever so patiently. Mike and the team at UPAA worked quickly to start the process of a claim, were detailed in every aspect of this journey and always available to take a phone call.
