Mel and his team have been insuring our family’s assets for over 25 years: cars, homes, umbrella liability, earthquake, valuables, renter’s insurance assistance, and more. Mel consistently goes above and beyond. He is proactive in leading me to discounts, and steering me away from over-insurance or unnecessary products. He’s 100% honest and transparent. His rates in the long run always proved competitive and the service from Mel and his team is without comparison, certainly true compared to non-State Farm carriers. (I often checked). We briefly tried other carriers and we got unloaded to contact call centers, long hold times, confusing websites. Our calls were transferred to different departments or randomized phone or web support. I recommend anyone and everyone to work with Mel and not waste time jumping from carrier to carrier. Had been having billing issues where I was getting calls that my account was past due but I’d log into my account and it would show no payment required at this time. I had called/emailed asking if this issue could be resolved (happy to pay outstanding payments but want to make sure account is reflecting properly). After several and back and forth emails finally got issued resolved. Experienced this issue again and tried to visit office during business hours. Door was locked, knocked and no one answered, there was a sign on door saying that office was remote due to COVID. Office looked abandoned and didn’t ease my concerns that I might be being scammed. I called and spoke to a representative in the office who lacked customer service and accused me of knocking on the door and quickly scurrying away when I had come to the office to speak to a representative. It only confirmed that I should find a new State Farm office to partner.
