If you are chronically ill DO NOT get insurance through these people. They do not care about your care they only want profit and to follow the people in power blindly without question. They would let you die and then still deny your medical coverage. I’m switching to private insurance and I will NEVER again sign up for any sort of Covered CA again. Also AJ in Escalations has no empathy and cannot even admit with the correct words that you’re being DENIED coverage. Do better California. Do better.

Completely worthless company to deal with. Any type of savings that you might have gained through them will be taken back when they double charge you for your insurance plan for a month and then refuse to refund the money, conveniently blaming me the customer. I switched plan to go directly with my insurance provider but this wasn't reflected in their system so I got double charged for January. Seems like they're really good at keeping track of you otherwise but conveniently not when it comes to payments, only when it comes to making sure you don't make a dollar more than stated on your application. Another FAILED California agency. Get with the rest of the world and modernize for crying out loud. While I am at it, also stop forcing Auto renewal on people. In addition you website sucks, happily taking ppl thru an application process rather than having easy access to a CANCEL HERE button. People DO NOT have time to spend hours on the phone with your dysfunctional agency!!

Covered California is a joke. The "Representatives" who were supposed to help you never resolves any problems. Made all the mistakes with all the files my family and I have since February. Been trying to correct it until before leaving, nothing was done. My son who is a 7 yr old was filed as an adult from February to now. I already mentioned that Medical and Kaiser told me to tell them that they were the one who made all the errors with the paperworks since the beginning of the year. They make all the excuses they can and kept forwarding calls to surveys and then kept hanging up. When a "supervisor" finally was reached, they said it will take time to terminate the account even if my family and I are no longer living in the state. Why should I keep the healthcare I can't even use in a different state?

Instead of helping people, they give you the run around between Medical and Covered California. This was the first time my family and I ever had problems with health care. The whole state is just a joke and no wonder why everyone especially the elderly wants nothing to do with the state.

Wish I could give negative stars. Not even sure where I start. The most unprofessional, rude and helpless company I have ever had to deal with. I’ve spent a total of 25 hours on the phone only to still have no insurance because someone didn’t dot the Ts or whatever. I was assured over and over that this would be fixed. But never was. Now I have young children not with no insurance. I’m in total disbelief that this level of stupidity is part of our healthcare system.

Covered ca sent me a letter in late Nov. stating that they could not auto-enroll me for Jan/2021, stating they did not have enough info in regards to my employment. That had worked in my favor since my employment status had changed, & not for the better. I re-enrolled in mid Jan/2021 for a lower plan, one that I could afford, until I was back on me feet. Covered CA is now trying to STEAL $300 from me, someone who has no form of income, to pay for the month of Jan. The month that I was supposed to have no coverage. I contacted them multiple times about this, 4 of their employees told me that I was fine & will be covered for Feb. but that I should contact Kaiser because are the the ones charging me the $300. Turns out Kaiser was not the issue & covered Ca re-enrolled me for Jan after stating that I was in fact, NOT eligible for auto-re-enrollment. Someone finally sent my issue up to management & I was told I would be contacted. I was NEVER contacted. 24hrs later, I received ONE email that said “we’re sorry but your request has been denied, call customer service if you have any questions.” I have the letter stating that I could not be auto enrolled in my possession but they refuse to acknowledge it. Their employees have zero idea what they are doing, their managers/supervisors are not helpful whatsoever & they are total thieves.
What company that is supposed to provide AFFORDABLE HEALTHCARE, lies & steals from people who don’t have any money? COVERED CA does.

I called six different numbers for covered california to hear the vm saying call 911, went to the welfare office they told me to go to social security went to social security they laughed and said they are a federal agency! California is a joke get out while you can.

When I had covered California for small business everything was fine until the business closed and I had to get a refund. Still waiting six months later and am being repeatedly told “management is reviewing your refund, and they’re backed up.” Pay your premium or get canceled. When Ste State owes you money, you have to fight and fight to get your money back.

I started a preliminary search for health insurance quotes last night since I'm aging out of my parents plan very soon. This company immediately proceeded to call me at 6am the next day and I have since been called roughly 50+ times over the course of the next 12 hours. I've started blocking numbers and they still pester me throughout my workday from new numbers. I under stand 2 or 3 calls the next day to follow up an inquiry, but this has crossed the line into borderline harassment
